This was our second visit to this site as it is local and I can stay there in the school holidays when my husband is working. It was full for some of our stay so was extremely busy! It has the usual high standard CC facilities and is very handy with the country park next to it. Loads to do with the children, who had an excellent stay. The chaps at the cycle hire shop even fixed my daughters bike, saving me a trip into town!
As I have young children I thought it would be useful to be pitched near the play park - what a mistake!! Most nights there was a group of older children in or around the park until after 10pm. I could possibly cope with the shouting but the swearing and language was awful. Thankfully my children slept through it! The wardens said unless I could tell them which pitch the children were from, there was nothing they could do as they finish at 8pm. I will think twice about where I pitch if I go again!
The wife dog and myself had a great weekend, the warders where really quick to respond to two young lads in the next caravan that where using scooters and told not to use them in the park. The toilets and Showers where spot less. The site is amazing. All the warders and staff where very polite. The location is ideal next to the steam railway and a great park ideal for lots of dog walking.
