Lovely Site and Wardens

Have stayed here six consecutive years and it is a great location. The wardens are friendly and extremely helpful and hardworking. I agree with the comments re toilet/shower block it needs to be bigger to manage demand. There is often a problem with people trying to arrive before 12.00 and I wonder if the club could charge a parking fee for early arrivers while they wait until 12.00 to discourage this.

Great site.

Just arrived home after 9 nights on this site. Friendly warm welcome from staff. We were given all information we needed. Picked our own pitch which we loved. The staff here work hard to keep the site clean and tidy. Windy when we stayed so staff were constantly clearing bits of trees etc off the grass. Toilets and showers were good and clean.  The laundry facilities were good but some better driers are needed.  We look forward to our next visit but won't be until next summer .

Great location

This is an excellent CC site. Easy to get to. Lots of room, great facilities, busy but not an issue. Super location next to the Dunes leading to Gwithian and Godrevy beach. Close to Hayle, shops close, pubs close. Good wifi, no Dog walk but lots of walks close by in the Dunes. Difficult to find anything to criticise. Had a very nice work here & will be back.

Lovely site

Greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Great pitch. Loved the short walk across the road to exercise the dog in the sand dunes.  Immaculate site, showers are a bit small. We would love to go back!

Good but could be better

Stayed here middle of July for 5nts and was shown to our pitch and told which direction our motorhome should be positioned (drive in with front near side to peg marker). Unfortunately, due to our continental style van with the door off side, we were constantly in the shade and in the wind. This site suffers from gusts of wind so take note when using your awning. Neighbour took theirs down early dye to the wind. So, we have a large pitch with motorhome parked in middle, shade where we sat out or could carry furniture around the other side and sit outside our neighbours pitch. Low and behold, I then saw another continental style motorhome with similar layout whereby they'd reversed into their pitch. Talk about one rule for one! The site was very busy with plenty of kids. Not a problem, as we have. However, we know where ours is and should she decide to shout from one end of the site to the other and run around at 1030pm, we'd do something about it. The site is handy for Lidl and there's a M&S nearby and its on the bus route to St Ives. There's a great beach over the sand dunes, but we walked down the road towards Gwithian beach as it was easier access. The site needs to reconsider its planning for the motorhome service point. The grey waste drain is positioned in a slight layby, off the main site road, but the grate is in the middle of that layby and has no camber/drain slope.  Motorhomes have drain valves positioned at one side or the other side of the motorhome - never in the middle of the underneath. So, positioning your motorhome over the drain is near impossible, unless you use a drain pipe. Then, you'd have to lift the drain before driving over it. What a performance! No wonder people dump elsewhere! CC - take note! We didn't have an issue with the facilities. Yes, they could do with a facelift, but it's other people's hygiene habits (or lack of!) that needs sorting. If we are ever planning on returning to that area, we would return, however, I'd want more say on my pitch selection.

Lovely site & wardens let down by terrible shower/toilet block

The title says it all. We would give 4 or more stars (as we have in the past) but the CaraClub really need to get their act together and modernise the awful showers and the toilet block. Excellent location, excellent on-site staff terribly let down by poor planning and management of the sites facilities from their HQ's who should have seriously updated these years ago. Appalling water pressure experienced in previous years slightly improved, we have experienced much worse here in the past when showers would only dribble at best coming to an almost complete stop! We say this having been here many times forgiving its sins on that and awarding 5 stars but NOW it really is a case of stepping back 2 decades in time with these naff shower facilities. Many, many CC sites i.e. Broadway, Cirencester etc as comparatives makes these here an embarrassment and if you are not quite able bodied then don't go as it will be troubling for you. Lovely St Ives close (but be very wary of the extremely violent attacking seagulls. The last 3 years they have stepped up in their nastiness but this year never seen it so bad, especially on young children and the elderly. It's like the Alfred Hitchcock movie 'The Birds' but its happening for real.) with Perranporth, Sennen Cove, Minack Theatre, Falmouth etc all easily accessible. Do the site justice, when closing down in autumn to spring, and get in their and bring its facilities from the 1990's into 2016 then  very happily go back to giving it higher star ratings. Lovely site with short comings, failings that should have long been fixed by the Club. Enjoy but be prepared for more like camping and caravanning club block!

Stunning, best beaches

Site is extremely quiet. Good size pitches and beaches which can be accessed over the sand dunes are stunning, the best in the area.  Wardens are very helpful but the facilities need an upgrade as they are getting quite tired.  The only problem we found were the seagulls, an absolute pain wherever you go!!!

Would do it again

Having never ventured to this part of the country with the van it was our first visit to Godrevy. Lovely wardens and wonderful site, well spaced pitches and spotless facilities if a little dated. Sand dunes closely are huge and you can very easily get lost trying to get to the beach, but what a beach - fantastic in any direction. 10 minute walk to Red River Inn but need a torch coming back. Reasonable food but blonde landlady not very friendly unless your local, which considering how much business the site must bring to the pub is surprising. Good Lidl 10 min drive and large Asda in town. Will deffo go back

Lovely Site

Have just spent a week here, the site is well looked after by a team of friendly wardens but feel the facilities could do with updating as the toilet block is quite small for the amount of people staying here, saying that it is still a lovely site but when it is windy the awnings do suffer, the walk to the beach via the dunes is great and also makes a great dog walk. If you have never been to this part of Cornwall then make sre you visit St Ives,it is a beautiful place, very busy though, the best way to get there is by the train Park and Ride. We will definately return. The mobile fish and chip van is definately worth buying from.
