Hillhead

We used this site in Sept 2015 for the first time & would highly recommend it,  it's a lovely site with excellent facilities as usual up to the high standards of the Club & the wardens were very helpful & friendly, the dog walk area is excellent & has disposal bins for your dogs mess, it's not a difficult task to do though sadly a few were guilty of not cleaning up after their dogs which is a shame that some dog owners are so irresponsible. The area has a lot to offer with lots of places of interest to visit, whether you have little ones with you or not. We would like to go again.

Not impressed by greeting

After driving for 4 hours in the pouring rain we were not impressed that the first comment was that he disagreed with the information about the length of our van saying longer than stated on the system despite it being smaller than most of the vans on the site. (Suggest customer service training would help) We have stayed here in the Summer twice before and enjoyed the facilities. However, we were very disappointed that the Bar/Restaurant were only open Friday and Saturday and there was no entertainment. This was the main reason why we picked Hillhead as we knew the weather would not be good in November. The other Wardens were excellent. One of them was extremely helpful when the hook up failed. He fixed it at once and kept checking every morning to see it was working. Would come back again but only if all facilities were open. Also, suggest you get the pool covered so it can be used all year.

Brilliant 5 days

Just returned from 5 nights at Hillhead. This site is just brilliant in all respects. Wonderful Wardens, scenery, views, location, layout, proximity to so many local places with transport "at the door". And the usual high standard of amenities, with the added bonus of shop (open daily)  and restaurant (although only open Friday and Saturday nights at this time of year) is great. Hillhead is one of the very best. [I must add how wonderful the grass is looking which makes the site looked so well cared for] Just one VERY small niggle - the showers have one small soap dish, so nowhere to put the shampoo, conditioner, shower creme etc but on the floor. Perhaps some 'hook over-the-partition top' baskets would be really helpful?? But we have had a great "before the Christmas rush" break.

Really excellent

This is the best Caravan Club site I have yet visited, and close to being the best of any site I know. The only criticism I would make is that during the winter months, when only one toilet/shower block is open, it makes no sense to close it for cleaning at 1030. Surely I am not the only person who has the occasional lie in when on holiday! Early afternoon would be so much better

Fabulous site

We have just spent three nights here and although we had terrible weather, we had a smashing few days. The wardens are lovely, site is well laid out with hedges between most pitches. There is a bus stop right outside the site entrance with regular buses running into Brixham. From here it is very easy to get the bus into Torquay or Paignton. £4.90 for a day rider enabling you to travel pretty much anywhere in Torbay! Great value. Will definitely return. Thank you.

Lovely site

We went for a long weekend lovely spotllessly clean site club house toilets showers etc. All the people were so friendly and helpful. A definite winter retreat would think it would be to busy for us in the summer. Ideally located for Brixham and surrounding area. Food in the Club house was excellent and good value. We will defiantly return.

One of the best

We recently stayed at this site and unfortunately my husband was taken ill and was rushed to hospital. I cannot thank and praise the wardens on site enough for their support and help at a difficult time. They have always been friendly and helpful but the support they gave us was definitely above and beyond what you would expect. The site is well located with bus stops right outside and well shop and bar

Great autumn break

We have been to Hillhead for the past 5 years during the October half term holiday.  The site is as you expect from a club site with excellent facilities.  The site is well payed out so that you don't realise the number of vans that are there and there is plenty of protection from the weather you would expect for the time of year. The location sells it for us as there is plenty to do in the surrounding area.  Dog walking at Goodrington is great and the Dartmouth food festival at the start of the week.

Short break

Stayed here for three nights from the 29th October....good site...we had a level hard standing pitch...staff very pleasant...ideal for visiting two nearby national trust properties...and bus service right outside main entrance of park...spent a lovely sunny day at Brixham...and the Marina... We would certainly return...
