This is, without any shadow of a doubt one of the best CC sites I have ever visited in over 30 years membership. Well cared for, large pitches, excellent facilities, friendly welcoming staff and wonderful views.
Nico's restaurant was excellent - good pricing and fabulous food.
The toilet block we used was immaculate AND with underfloor heating in the showers - brilliant! Never had to wait for any of the block facilities.
I have only one criticism - it's time they put an effective silencer on their mowing machine - two days out of 5 the peace and quiet was shattered by this ridiculously noisy machine!
I would highly recommend this site - no idea how it copes in the main school Summer Holiday period, but at the end of September it was great! (5 nights, no rain all the time we were there and beautiful sunny days if a little windy).
If you have a Motorhome you don't want to move while you're there, the bus stop right outside the site is perfect for Brixham, Paignton and the Dartmouth river crossing and once you get to Paignton the buses from the bus station go virtually everywhere in the South Hams and wider - you cab easily get to Plymouth if wanted!
If you have never been to Hillhead, then go - you wont be disappointed.
