A Lovely peaceful site

This was our first visit to this site and certainly won't be the last the wardens were very helpful and very friendly we loved how private the pitch s were the shower blocks were spotless even with the amount of rain we'd had if it was possible to "criticise " the site it would be that the play area could do with up dating just a few more things ie slide, swings, but that apart we really enjoyed our three nights there and will hopefully be back before winter

Peaceful

This is one of our favourite sites. We try and stay here as often as we can. We love it all year round. The site is set in lovely woodland enclaves. If you have a satellite dish you need to pick your spot as the reception isn't good.  The river is close by and easily accessible for children to play or the dogs to swim etc. the local pub is dog friendly too and the meals are really very good. Sizbrugh Farm is close by too and worth a visit to watch the cows being milked. The farm shop does some lovely cheese , bread etc . A little pricey but that's to be expected. A really great site and a good location.

Stunning

Stayed here for 3 nights and wished i could have stayed longer. A stunning site in the woodlands with spacious pitches. We pitched in the trees next to a brook and it was idyllic- just beautiful. The wardens were very friendly and helpful and the toilets/ showers were always clean. Ideal for the Lakes and just off the motorway. A pub in a 10 minute walk and a national trust property also a short walk away. This has gone to the top of my list of favourite sites for location and i cannot wait to visit again- just stunning!

Beautiful

Stayed here for two nights last week on a tour of Scotland and the Lake District and what a lovely site it is. The wardens were very friendly and efficient and the facilities were immaculate, with plenty of hot water in the showers. The site itself is in a perfect location alongside the river and is so peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately, we were not blessed with good weather so we didn't get much chance to sit outside our motorhome and enjoy the surroundings on a sunny day, but I would imagine this would be pure bliss. We did walk into Kendal, following the river, over the fields and it is a lovely walk but be aware it is five miles and there are a few stiles to negotiate, however, if you like walking it is well worth it. The site have an agreement with a local taxi firm who will do the journey for £10 each way (instead of £15-£18). We used them for the journey back, he was spot on time and brought four of us back for the agreed price. All in all a very pleasant stay.

A little gem!

Despite the poor weather last week we enjoyed a lovely stay at the Kendal site. It was our first visit and what a little gem it is. Beautiful location, quiet and peaceful with the River Kent running just next to the site which provided fabulous walks for us and our dog. The wardens are terrific - so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and very dog friendly. They even sold cream teas in reception! The information room is excellent and we had good fish and chips from the van that comes to the site on a Friday. The site is well placed for exploring the south lakes and Morecambe Bay. We will definitely be back for another visit.

Great family weekend

A wonderful peaceful caravan site, with the most helpful friendly and welcoming wardens. The pitches are arranged in small groups which adds to the impression of peacefulness. The wardens and assistants are so helpful and friendly it is almost as if you are visiting your family. The information centre is the best stocked we have ever seen and personal recommendations are also added. The area of course is fabulous and the fish and chips from the van serving on the site on the Friday were excellent. Our first visit but certainly not our last and one to be recommended.

Peace & Tranquility in a Forest Glade

Delightful, well kept site, set in a forest with friendly, helpful wardens. We stayed Monday to Wednesday and it was very peaceful sitting in the dappled sunlight through the trees.  The adjacent River Kent was picturesque and there was plenty to do in the surrounding area. Sizergh Castle (NT) was just up the road and was an interesting, charming place to visit. We also had a good meal at the Strickland Arms.  Will come again - recommended.

Great caravan club standards

On our way to Scotland from kent so a great place to stop. Location is great, a nice pub within walking distance and some great walks nearby. The staff are great and really helpful and the site has large and small little nooks and crannies everywhere suiting everybody. Toilets and showers as per normal, clean and entirely suitable for everybody. On a personal note, I had a dead battery and the staff helped straight away MANY THANKS. As per normal great caravan club standards, see you again soon.

A return visit didn't disappoint

We returned to this site and accompanied by our 5 year old granddaughter. And our cairn terrier.  This is a lovely quiet site, the staff are helpful, facilities spotless and loads of fun things to do for a 5 year old who loved looking for woodland treasure and walking up to the farm shop through the woods. I think this site may become one of our favourites,

Fab week away again

We love this site as it's by the river and in the quieter part of Cumbria. The staff are top notch and always pleasant. The toilet blocks are immaculate and we have never had to queue. Only down side the play area could do with a few swings and a slide for younger children. Oh and the WI FI is very unreliable but that's due to Airangel not the Caravan Club.
