Great family site

Site great location. In walking distance  to longleat park. Clean toilets family room with indoor  tv and games room. Outside giant chess swing ball and table tennis. Highly  recommended  site. Only negative is that we arrived at 1. 45  arrival after 1pm. We were 15 minutes early. The warden was a little hostile stating there was a reason for arriving after 1pm. However on the day of our departure. A van was arriving  at 10.15.and was allowed on site.

Can't fault the site

Site was really clean, the staff were really friendly and very knowledgeable. We walked out of the site and round the corner and were straight into Longleat Safari Park. We took the Longleat bus around the animal park which was £5 per person but it meant that the Monkeys couldn't pull off our parking sensors or mirrors or number plates etc. The showers were hot and the facilities were kept tidy. We would defenitely go back and we will be recommending the site to anyone that wants to go to Longleat.

Our second stay

This was our second stay at Longleat and a very enjoyable one too with family. The site is always clean & the wardens work hard. The only negatives this time was that the washing machine ended up costing us £8 as opposed to £5 for a wash, rinse & spin cycle, the warden that I spoke to didn't seem interested in reimbursing me the £3 as the machines are rental ones. We had no option but to use the machine as my 3yr old was poorly during our stay so we had a lot of "sicky" clothes to wash. Secondly, the site states that arrivals are after 1pm due to the very narrow lane that you have to use, on our last day, people were arriving at 10am & being allowed on to the site which we felt wasn't very good for those of us leaving & having to meet on the lane! The wasps were a nightmare also but that was part of the course I guess. We will definitely return to Longleat in the future as the kids had an amazing time & the safari park is just fantastic!

Fabulous site shame about the dangerous approach to entrance

Wow this site has to be 5*in the camping world. The warders are polite and very helpful.  Extremly clean, very well maintained  and the way its set out gives you maximum room on your pitches. downside is the approach road. Even with morning departures  and afternoon arrivals system, it still doesn't stop the large transits and many cars you meet each way. With many blind spots and  drivers driving far too fast around the bends. It's nerve wrecking. Would be so much more of an entrance coming through longleat main entrance, but not sure a way out in same way would work.  We will so continue our many frequent visits to this lovely site dispite the approach road. WiFi and phone signal almost nil but sometimes it's good to be of the grid for s few days. A short trip out to supermarket etc soon gets phone buzzing again.

Longleat

Pleasant site with many nooks and crannies giving varied pitches, some in sunshine , some under trees. Safari park animals can be heard at times. The main drawback is the access road and if you are unlucky with opposite direction traffic whilst towing it could be a problem. It is very narrow and twisty.

Excellent all round!!!

Stayed for 3 nights with friends in another van.  Great choice of pitch which was great as it was HOT!  Facilities were excellent and the welcome superb!  Did not tick 5 for peace and quiet cos of the sea lions in the evenings - sublime!!!  Best bit was the walks from the site.  You do not have to go into Longleat Park.  We walked to a lovely pub for lunch called the Horse and groom, part on lanes and part through wood.  Directions from the wardens you only have to ask!  Visit to Longleat itself was great.  Do book online to get all your discounts etc. and go in the back gate and book early for the safari bus as it gets full quickly.

Peaceful stay right next to Longleat

Our stay from the 9 to the 12th July 2015 was really enjoyable. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the site facilities were spotlessly clean. Wifi and phone signal was intermittent but sometimes it is nice not be bothered with phones etc ! Couldn't get any closer to Longleat itself and hearing the seals at night was brilliant.
