A brilliant site, wardens and location. Would highly recommend a visit to this site. Once pitched you really don't need to move your car everything close by. Lovely walks for the dog too.
one of the best sites
brilliant site ,great wardens very willing to help, chat, assist you with any problems that you might have ,location is 250yds from Melrose main street , loads of walks from site along river ,Eildon hills can be seen from site, most hotels/pubs are dog friendly ,toilets spotless, warm ,very small comment.ie. shower curtain is to high of floor ,when having shower, water gets underneath and onto the tiles that you are going to stand and dry yourself .ie wet floor outside of shower area .
Cannot rate this site high enough
My husband and I and two dogs have just returned from two weeks in this lovely site. We were there as we needed to be in Melrose for a specific reason and it suited us perfectly. Being so close to the town, we hardly needed to use our car and loved the variety and uniqueness of the local shops which provide all we needed for our stay. Walks along the river were very close by and there were plenty of places if we chose to eat out. The site was spotlessly clean and tidy and the shower block very good. The wardens were very helpful and we could not fault their enthusiasm for looking after the site. We can't wait to go back, but being so popular it seems one has to book early.
Great site
Excellent site located in Melrose. Facilities are kept spotless. Wardens extremely helpful and friendly. Stayed on a fully serviced pitch. It's a bit tight for size but otherwise it's a great site. Much better since the trees have been cut back.
SITES DONT GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS
Having just spent our second visit to Melrose in 5 months ,we can honestly say its top class. All the reviews are spot on and describe the site prfectly .The only thing i can add is try the virtual golf centre in Galoshiels , they have all the golf courses and also crazy golf for the young ,penalty shoot out as well .Something for the rainy day,or just enjoy the walks.Edinburgh is an easy drive. The site staff are really helpfull . We will be back.

Its got the lot!
This site has everything. Easy to get to; surprisingly quiet considering its on the edge of the high street; walking distance from several pubs, two of which give you a 10% discount on food on production of your Club Card. Melrose Abbey is just a couple of minutes walk away as are Priorswood and Harmony Gardens. Good dog walk; Mill Shop with lovely café (which does a smashing breakfast) just a few hundred yards past the abbey after which you can continue on to the River Tweed and either do a short circular walk back past the rugby pitch to the site or cross the Chain Bridge for a longer walk along the river bank. The site is clean and well maintained and the wardens are helpful and friendly.
We have been several times to this little gem of a site which is also accessible to Edinburgh P & R (about an hour) and we will be returning.

Fantastic site
Just spent 2 nights (must of been the wildest wind of the year). Great peaceful site and wardens were very friendly. Great river walk with the dog and added bonus of catching a rugby match. Will definitely be returning. Super central for shops n pubs too.

Great site
Lovely site the wardens were so helpful and very friendly. Great location lots of great walks. Lovely meal in the Kings Arms forgot about the discount but good value. This isprobably our favourite site.
Melrose campsite.
Just back a few days from this site. Very clean will kept site. Lovely location and peaceful despite being a playing field away from a primary school. Had booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 3.
Winter Break
We spent two nights at this site mid February 2015 during a spell of unseasonably mild weather. The site is well located within the town, well run and maintained by the wardens.
Melrose is a pleasant Borders town, and there is much of interest in the area, not least the vast ruins of Melrose Abbey which are well worth a visit. It is a pity that some of the members and wardens seemed a bit dour, but we will be back as all in all this is a good site for a short stay.
