Peaceful site in a good location

Enjoyed our 14 days here, touring no further than Dartmoor-Plymouth-Slapton but managed to be out and about most days with plenty to see. Roads like many in Devon a bit on the narrow side but if you take your time you soon get used to noticing and using passing points. During our second week the site was only about 60% full which was a surprise as it has a lot to commend it: - pitch sizes, location, cleanliness and so peaceful you felt you had to whisper after dark. The shower facilities are fine but now on the dated side for C&MC ones. Biggest fault for me being the lack of a fitted bench in the cubicles and they are slightly on the small side. Why is this an issue, well my knees are now 70 years old and sitting down on the low stool provided combined with the limited dry area makes it very uncomfortable getting your socks on.

What a wonderful site!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Modbury and will definitely return. The site is immaculately maintained by the wardens Chris and Tina whilst maintaining a very relaxed and super friendly atmosphere. Not easy to achieve! All down to the hard work put in by Chris and Tina. The dog field is fantastic— so much space. So many great beaches close by and wide choice of excellent places to eat. We thoroughly recommend the Oyster Shack near Bigbury— well worth the journey on narrow lanes or across the tidal road. On access we had no difficulty with a 5m+ van. Yes, narrow in a few places but plenty of passing places and all other drivers very courteous. Directions from the wardens are very clear.

Great site

Just spent two fantastic weeks at this great site. The wardens Chris and Tina work so hard to keep this site in pristine condition. We have only been caravaning (and towing) for just over a year, and some of the reviews talk of the narrow approach roads and may put you off. Yes it can be a bit tight in places but all drivers we came across were courteous and we did not have any problems getting in or out so if we can do it with only a years experience of towing..... go for it. The site itself is spacious, quiet and spotless. The wardens are adding many nice touches to this site and should be congratulated on their enthusiasm to make this a very successful site. It is well located for the coast with Bigbury, Salcombe not too far away and the south part of Dartmoor within easy reach. The best dog exercise area/field we have experienced and a great field that is being managed to encourage flora and fauna. We will be back no doubt.

Our favourite site!!

My wife and I have just spent the most fabulous week at Modbury Caravan Site. We have just returned to caravanning after a 5 year break and we chose Modbury after having many happy family weeks there with our 2 sons. We returned last week and it exceeded our expectations. The 2 wardens, Tina and Chris, were both excellent and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Tina in particular is the most cheerful warden we have ever come across. thanks to you both for making our stay really memorable.Spacious pitches, spotless toilets and showers, if you want peace and quiet then this site is perfect for you.

Lovely peaceful site

This was our first stay at a club site since we joined and have to say we could not have chosen better for our first trip this season. The pitches are so spacious and facilities absolutely spotless. We had a very warm welcome from the site wardens who gave us a choice of pitches. The dog walk is very good and you are able to let your dog off the lead so that he/she can have a good run around. Very well placed for visits to a variety of places in the South Hams.

Absolutely Fantastic

We have just returned home after staying at this site for Easter . This is our second stay here . I have to say this is one of the best sites around . We have a chocolate lab and felt very happy walking him around the site , it's very dog friendly . There is a fantastic dog walk . The wardens are absolutely delightful, so friendly and very very helpful . We arrived late just after 7.30 pm and they were very accommodating and we had a lovely welcome . The site is immaculate, the toilet block was always immaculate and the pitches were kept very well with the lawns cut . The pitches are very spacious, we had a camper van with awning and a motorbike with trailor and had plenty of space . The site is very accessible, no issues getting through and where the site is you can visit so many beautiful places . During our stay the wardens were always on hand to help and as it was Easter they even arranged an Easter Egg hunt for the children . We will be back . Thank you for another great stay .

Fantastic!

This is the nicest site I’ve stayed on during my Devon road trip. Everything about it was pleasing. Fantastic walks all around, and a great on site dog area for the quick dogalog wee. I can’t recommend this site enough. Well done to all who keep it up to scratch! Beautiful!

Martyn and Gerri give a lovely welcome as site wardens and cannot do enough for you. The site is quiet and well laid out with lots of space and mature trees The bathroom block is heated and with radio piped in which was a lovely touch. Its become a favourite for us with just 1 visit!

Peaceful, friendly site

Was originally staying at Modbury for three nights but ended up staying six due to the high winds and storms! The wardens were very helpful and booked the extra nights for me on a day by day basis. The site has a really lovely dog field where my dogs could really stretch their legs and have a good run around. The shower block was clean tidy - and had the radio playing - which I much prefer to silence - I'd rather listen to the radio than others ablutions! The location of the site is very handy for exploring both Dartmoor and the coast. A lovely site and I will definitely return. Thank you.
