Central Anglesey

The welcome & help we received on arrival was exactly what you would expect at Caravan Club sites- informative, helpful & friendly.  Unfortunately during the time of our four days stay there was a continuous smell adjacent to the toilet block which indicated a sewage problem. The toilet block was tired & in need of refurbishment with the showers high on the list- empty joints in the floor tiling, poor water pressure from the shower head on most of the cubicles. This is our second visit & we think it's time the higher management looked at this site for a toilet block refurb.

Great base to explore Anglesey

After reading reviews on here I was apprehensive about what to expect at this site but we found the site to be great. Yes I agree with some reviews the showers and toilet's need updating but I always found them to be clean and with plenty of hot water. We were lucky to be pitched behind the reception area and found this to be perfect for us and if I am honest the larger area did look to have pitches that were uneven and on grass. An Elsan point would have been good in the area we were but it was only a short walk to the emptying point. The wardens were very friendly as were other people on the site. For us the location was great as we love to explore and don't mind using the car to get to places. There are plenty of beaches nearby but some don't allow dogs on and the roads to them can be single tracks with blind corners. We would definitely come here again.

Worst Site I have ever been too

The site was nice and quiet however the toilet facilities were very old and out dated with 1 hair dryer which doesn't heat up properly and weren't as clean as other sites toilets usually are. The wardens were very rude and even though I am a Club member and paid full price getting there at 12 and the site not being full I was forced into a grass pitch which was not suitable for my vehicle. I can honestly say I will NEVER return to this site. It is the worst site I have been on in the 13 years I have been using Caravan Club sites.

nice if get the right pitch

i visited this site in June. its a nice site but dont book a pitch without an awning as there is only 3 of them. one is up the hill and not really suitable for motorhomes and 1 is outside the toilets. The site is a couple of miles from the village and beach but not too far. The beach is lovely. I would recommend going to Red Wharf bay to The tavern on the bay. But may need to book.

5 days on penrhos

just stayed on this site for 5 nights. superb site and wardens. I think this site could be re developed to give more room per van and add extra 10 caravans. toilet block is requiring update and extra hand drier in gents. but this is still in one of most fantastic areas if weather is nice. P.S. thanks to the lady who handed my wife's silver bracelet in to wardens after we had left for home and to the warden (lady)who posted it on to us.

Bliss

So lovely to stay on a site with grass pitches. Weather was on our side but even when wet prefer the luxury of grass. Great location, lovely views, friendly wardens, plenty of space - what more could you want?

Tired but clean

As people have already stated, the toilet and shower blocks are tired and had an unpleasant odour.  The ladies block had holes in the ceiling tiles but were clean enough.  We chose this site at last minute as we decided to take our grandchildren away for a couple of days.  Out of curiosity we made enquiries at the commercial site next door which had more and better facilities, and were very surprised to find the commercial site was cheaper, and even had a swimming pool. Also vans were booking on site before at least an hour before the permitted time, meaning those people who follow the rules get the worst pitches.  This needs addressing in my opinion.

Tired!

This site is long overdue a makeover and probably one of the worst we have used. This is no reflection on the cheerful wardens who, no doubt, do their best. Great location and the fine weather during our stay meant the site's shortcomings were overlooked and we would return.

Great holiday!!!

As everyone seems to agree, the wardens are superb and the toilet block is a little dated but I have to say, very clean. That having been said, the location is good, the atmosphere here is relaxed and welcoming and the facilities for dogs were excellent. The weather was great and yes, there were children playing but that is what family caravanning holidays  are all about in my opinion. The only down side was the wifi which cost £10 for the week and was absolutely useless. Great holiday!!! Would definitely come back.

Pleasant site

We stayed for six nights, mid August. Weather helped as very good. Pitch was far end at top of hill so whilst benefiting from good views and feeling of spaciousness, it backed onto the childrens facilities so some could find this noisy especially later in the day. (Best variety of childrens activities we have seen on any club site) Also longest walk to the single toiled block. (Little or no wildlife seen) Agree with others toilet/washroom block was both confusing in layout and out of date. Wardens were excellent and kept everything clean and tidy on the site. Great location, lots of great beaches throughout the Island including Holyhead.
