Super Scarborough

Just back from our first visit to this site and we were both really impressed! The site was busy, but it didn't feel like it, being spacious, yet tranquil. Credit has to go to the whole warden team for their friendliness and their hard work, keeping the site in such lovely condition, as well as the spotless facilities blocks. Thank you wardens. A good selection of pitches, hardstanding, serviced, grass - something to suit everyone's taste. There is a great dog exercise field where the pooches can run freely. This is adjacent to a huge playing field with a brand new play-area, which the kids will absolutely love - it's brilliant! There's also an indoor area too, should the weather become inclement, as well as another smaller play area further up the site. A 5 minute walk brings you to the villages of East (across the river) and West Ayton, where buses run frequently into Scarborough and surrounding areas. There's a couple of pubs, a Spar shop and a really excellent fish restaurant (Walkers) The site also has a visiting Fish & Chip van (on a Friday) which is good. All in all, a beautiful site, in a beautiful area, worthy of 5 stars.

Recent stay

Being new to caravanning this was our second experience of a caravan club site. The wardens were really friendly and I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only do they have a DVD library and some books they also stocked A good variety of essential items. These are also included caravan accessories such as aerial cables et cetera. Facilities were spotless and they had even thought of disability as there was a separate shower seat for use. Will definitely use again and thank you to the wardens for all your hard work.

A big site but you’d never know

This is a big site but because of the design you’re on different levels and it seems much smaller. The wardens are brilliant and very accommodating. Great showers as expected from club sites . Good access and of course Scarborough is a great place to visit .

First trip to Scarborough but last trip in the caravan for 2018

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this site and will go back again next year. There is lots to do in North Yorkshire if you like sightseeing (Scarborough, Whitby, Pickering) and historical interest. There is also plenty of good walking for all or part of the day. There a good network of local paths from the site and abundant wildlife to watch. I found the site to be very clean and well maintained and appreciated a decent dog walking area where my dog could truffle around off the lead. We were given a warm welcome and our choice of pitch on arrival. What a shame we only stayed for a week!

Last trip of the Year - 2018

We have recently returned from a refreshing weekend at West Ayton, Staff as friendly as ever, facilities well looked after, and even got the pitch of choice. Back next year for more relaxing weekends away.

Enjoyable stay

We have stayed on the site several times and always had an enjoyable break. The location is ideal for exploring the coast and especially for an evening stroll "on the front" at Scarborough. Most of the staff were, as usual, cheerful and friendly - just one was a bit grumpy! The toilet blocks are spotlessly clean but maybe starting to show their age a bit. Without doubt we will be back.

Our favourite site

Another lovely stay at West Ayton. We stayed 4 nights over the bank holiday weekend and although the site was full it did not feel crowded. The site is well cared for by the friendly wardens who have made a real effort this year with the flower displays which are stunning. The dog walk is great - very secure. I would agree with some other reviewers about people who don’t pick up their dog poo. Just bad manners. We have picked up other dog’s poo to keep it clean. The site is close to Scarborough and other east coast treasures. My only complaint is that the site is not open all year round!

Beautiful Site

Second time visiting this site, this time we stayed for 2 weeks. the Site is well kept and the wardens were very helpful. The playground and dog walk area are very large. My only complaint is we wish all dog owners would clean up after their dogs and don't let you dogs foul outside caravans :( Did several walks including Filey to Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay to Whitby. the views on this walk were beautiful. visited Nunnington Hall. Had Sunday lunch at the Denison Arms which is priced at £8.95 and you will get large portions with good service from the staff. We had fish and chips from the local chippy twice and we would highly recommend it because in our opinion they are the best fish and chips we've ever had. Also we visited Grosmont and Goathland and they were both absolutely beautiful places with nice walks. We had a picnic on the Yorkshire Moors just outside Goathland. The scenery when driving to Goathland is truly stunning. Robin hoods bay which is about 20 miles from the site is a very very pretty place with loads to do such as walking along the beach and the town. Also, the shops are quite unique and unusual and its just a brilliant lace to visit.

Excellent site!

Absolutely loved this site! It’s kept immaculate by the wardens, The facilities are spotlessly clean. Brilliant dog walk on site, probably the best one we have used. We don’t have young children but if you do the play areas are excellent. Large field with games room. Fish and Chip van was very good too

Lovely site for families

We had a fabulous 7 night stay in August 2018. The site is big but still felt very quiet even with a lot of children on site! The parks were brilliant and well kept and my 2 children (7 and 10) loved riding their bikes around the site. Facilities were always clean and we never had a problem getting a shower even at this peak time of year. It is a 15 minute drive into Scarborough which we did a few times, visiting Peasholm Park and the more bustling South Bay for ice cream and crabbing. Would definitely return, thanks for a lovely holiday.
