First Camp Holbaek Fjord

First Camp Holbaek Fjord is situated at the southern tip of the Fjord and perfect for cycling and hiking around the area with stunning views.

On-site there is an indoor pool, sauna and hot tub perfect for relaxing after a busy day sight seeing and you can walk down to the marina jetty if you fancy a dip in the fjord. There is a restaurant " The Skippers Bistro "at the marina within easy walking distance from the campsite. The reception has a small shop and sells fresh bread daily with a supermarket within walking distance.

Holbaek is a busy little town and the Strand beach park has lovely gardens inspired by the Frederiksberg Gardens in Copenhagen with a restaurant, wooden mill and watch tower where you can experience panoramic views of the Fjord.

If you fancy a trip to Copenhagen you can hop on the train at Holbaek or drive the 60kms on an excellent road network. More locally at the ancient capital of Denmark Roskilde, there is the famous Viking museum and harbour where you can travel back 1000 years back in time and see the old preserved Viking ships watching them create new ones from scratch in the boatyard. You can even try you hand at rowing on one on a boat trip and there are many workshops to join in with.

The town also boasts a stunning Medieval Cathedral where 39 Danish kings and queens are buried which is worth a visit. An alternative day out is the beautiful "Zen Garden" a japanese style garden with waterfalls and carp pools which is a 30kms drive to Stenlille.
