Blackshaw Moor welcomes new Secretary of State
Blackshaw Moor Club Site welcomed a special guest recently when the new Secretary of State for Culture, Sport and Tourism paid a visit
The Rt Hon Karen Bradley is MP for Staffordshire Moorland and accepted an invitation from Club Director General, Nick Lomas to visit the site.
Mrs Bradley and her two sons enjoyed a tour with Nick and the site wardens. They also chatted to members enjoying the Peak District Sunshine.
Mr Lomas said:
“We have a long-running programme of engaging with politicians at all levels, so they gain an understanding of the value that touring caravanning brings to a local area.
“To have the Secretary of State responsible for tourism taking time out of her busy schedule was a huge honour for us, and we all enjoyed meeting her.
“She seemed very impressed by the site and its facilities, and I’m sure she went away with a much better understanding of the importance of our sector to the rural economy and how the Club and members contribute to that.”
