Set in the beautiful location of an old walled garden on the picturesque Chatsworth Estate, the Chatsworth Park Club Campsite in Bakewell offers nostalgic views of the sheep-cropped rolling countryside, with some lovely walks. One of our sites in Derbyshire, the caravan park is a lovely holiday retreat for the family to escape the bustle of city living. Surrounded by lots of wildlife, it is fantastic for deer watching.
The Horse Trials that take place in May and the Country Fair in September are just two of the fantastic attractions conveniently nearby the Chatsworth Park Club Campsite. One of the first visits on the list should be to the House, where you can immerse yourself in history as you wander round the beautifully decorated rooms, formal gardens and the famously lovely cascade. Another place for an unforgettably scenic stroll is the 1000-acre park laid out by Capability Brown. For those who want to sample and take home authentic country delights, the nearby farm shop boasts superior marmalades and jams amongst many other scrumptious treats. The village of Baslow is a 15 minute walk with a couple of good pubs, including the refurbished Devonshire Arms. Bakewell market on Mondays is recommended. Children visiting the caravan site will enjoy the farmyard and adventure playground on the Chatsworth House estate, guaranteed to give them hours of fun.
Chatsworth Park Health & Fitness Club is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away. To find out about what they offer, please visit their webpage Here.

A couple of member friends said go to Chatsworth Park, you'll love it. Well at the second attempt to book here on preferred dates, we booked a service pitch in early July 24 at an exorbitant £50 plus per night. It ain't worth it. It's a claustrophobic site with too many pitches crammed in, the service pitches are poor, children were speeding around on e scooters at over 15 mph and the off lead dog walk is adequate but could be massively improved with imaginative landscaping. The only block is in need of a refurb too. The biggest negative was the sight of a couple of rats tracking off to an evening BBQ and having our outside bin attacked by crows in the middle of the night. All in all particularly undedifying. From a positive perspective, the staff were lovely, they try hard to keep it clean, the check in was fast and seamless and the mobile catering options are good. We tried the pizza on the Sunday. The gate in the wall to the grounds of Chatsworth itself was beneficial, but the need to keep our energetic fur baby on a lead throughout the Estate was not. The location of the site within the Peak District is second to none due to its proximity to Bakewell. The week before we stayed here at Chatsworth, we stayed at CAMC Clumber Park. It was a superior site in EVERY aspect compared to Chatsworth Park (apart from the WiFi). Perhaps that's why Chatsworth failed to deliver for us.
Reply from the Club:
Thank you for your review and for raising your concerns with us. As this site is in the countryside and next to a river, there will sometimes be rats on site. Other creatures spotted on site by members include badgers, rabbits and foxes. However, there is no current infestation or concerning levels of rats or any other rodent. Our site staff remain vigilant and all necessary steps are taken by the site management. We hope this reassures you.
