The Bowes Museum
An acclaimed exhibition programme, sensational seasonal menu in Café Bowes and 20 acres of stunning parkland.
View and Book
Our CL site is located on a large grass field, within a small 40 acre working sheep farm, set in the beautiful and peaceful Greta Valley in Teesdale.
The River Greta borders our land and offers private fishing by arrangement. There are walks around the farm and plenty of footpaths leading directly from the site to suit all capabilities as well as numerous cycling routes, including the famous Stang Hill Climb into the Yorkshire Dales. Many species of birds and wildlife can be seen around the site, including stoats, rabbits, curlews, oyster catchers, dippers, partridges and pheasants.
This is a good central location for sightseeing and touring around the North-East and Yorkshire. Supermarkets, shops, restaurants etc, can be found 5 miles away in the busy historic market town of Barnard Castle.
Ideal for those wishing to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside.
