Why stay here ...
Surrounded by the glorious East Sussex countryside, River Brede Farm is the idlilic getaway.
Situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty beside the River Brede, it has lots to offer. Wildlife and bird lovers will enjoy sightings of birds of prey, woodpeckers, wildfowl and much more. Within a 20 to 30 minute walk from the site there is Rye Harbour Nature Reserve with bird hides and beautiful walks. Camber Castle (English Heritage) is just a 10 to 15 minute walk across the fields from the site along footpaths/bridal paths.
From the site you can use the footpath to walk to the historic cinque port of Rye (approx 30mins) with its narrow streets, quirky shops and plenty of pubs and restaurants to enjoy. Turn left out from Castle Farm Lane, 0.8 mile you will find the village of Winchelsea Beach with a supermarket and post office, cash machine, fish and chip shop, kebab and pizza shop, pub and butchers with farm shop and cafe. As you leave Winchelsea Beach towards Hastings you will also find another cafe alongside the beach.
In Winchelsea itself there is a pub, The New Inn and a shop. Here you will also find the grave of Spike Milligan in the churchyard of St Thomas the Martyr. This is a beautiful church with stunning modern stained glass windows.
To the west Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne are a short drive away. To the East is Lydd, Camber and Dungeness. Camber has beautiful windswept beaches, whilst in contrast Dungeness has a rugged feel with its houses dotted around the coast. At Dungeness you will find the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway for a great day out. The 'Fish Shack' at Dungeness is a great place to delight in the local fish cuisine. The famous Norman Conquest of 1066 can be visited as Battle Abbey is not far away (31min drive).
Walkers and cyclist alike will love the array of footpaths and cycle routes from the site.
In Camber Kitesurfing/Windsurfing lessons are available and you can also hire electric bikes.
There is a bus stop on the main road which will take you into Rye and then from here Dover/Ashford. Then in the other direction towards Hastings, Bexhill, Eastbourne and onto Brighton. Winchelsea station is 1.8 miles from the site.
The camping field is a 2.5 acre, mostly flat site with access to fresh water and an Elsan emptying point. All pitches are either grass or hardstanding and are fully serviced with electric, fresh water and grey emptying.
Please note: We are an adult only site and next to a working farm.

Great Location
River Brede Farm
The pictures on the club site and the descriptions in the reviews are accurate and there has clearly been a lot of thought and resources invested into this site. It is a bit of a perk to have the additional facilities you would not usually find on a CL and everything works ( although wi-fi not reliable when we stayed). However what is most attractive (to us) about River Brede Farm is its location and the fact that its open in winter thanks to the excellent hardstanding and access. Booking via the form, email contact and paying by BACS all very easy. Thank you.

What a lovely site very well laid out, great fully serviced pitches very peaceful and lots of walks in the area, lovely owners who came and saw us to make sure we was happy with everything, we will definetly return again

Fantastic campsite
River Brede Farm
We have just left from a lovely 3 night stay at this campsite and we had a wonderful time. As it was a winter stay the hard standing pitches were perfect to keep the camper mud free, although to be fair the grass around the hardstandings in the campsite was very well maintained and not muddy at all. There was a lovely large space of grass which was perfect for us as having a 7 month old retriever it meant she had somewhere to go not far away from the van. The facilities were excellent, the pitch was level and the site was clean and tidy. There was lots to do close by with more than enough to keep us entertained for our 4 days here and it really is a lovely part of the country.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, we’ll definitely be heading back in the summer for another wonderful stay!
Great little site
River Brede Farm
Stayed at this great little site at the end of November 2023.
Lovely and quiet with all the basic facilities you'd need on a CL at hand on the pitch (EHU, fresh water and Grey water disposal). Easy walking access to local villages/ beaches and a Co-op (just a 15 min walk away).
Recommended and would defiantly stay again.
A Great Site
River Brede Farm
A lovely level site run by people who understand what makes for the ideal pitche, either caravan or motorhome. For a new enterprise it is great. The added bonus of fresh water and grey water disposal to each pitch as well as EHU makes for a relaxing break. Quiet and peaceful, apart from some traffic noise at commuting time, with good walks straight fron the gate!
