Why stay here ...

Our CL is a well tended, peaceful site set amidst 20 acres of fields and lakes in the village of Smarden set in the beautiful "Weald of Kent'. Ideally situated for exploring the castles of Leeds, Sissinghurst and Bodiam, the Kent and Sussex Railway in Tenterden, The Kent and Sussex Coast and the many historic and pretty surrounding villages., including Pluckley (Darling Buds of May) and Tenterden with its weekly market. There are numerous footpaths to explore or country lanes, for those who prefer their enjoyment on two wheels. There are local village amenities including pubs, tearooms , butcher, bakers and a small supermarket. For those interested in conservation, the Wildlife Heritage Foundation Big Cat Sanctuary, is just a short walk from the site.

We are ideally situated for a visit to Headcorn Airfield and Museum , you can watch the WW1 and WW2 planes ,including the Spitfires fly over our site during the Battle of Britain weekend and see the parachutes and wing walkers from the comfort of your pitch.

The site incorporates 'Sam's Lakes' a coarse fishery which has two well stocked lakes which contain Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Chub, Barbel, Perch and Gudgeon. The CL site is just 40 yards from the lakes (screened by a hedge) and is suitable for disabled visitors. The pitches are located on a lawned 0.75 acre field. Best CL we have ever visited

Roland House Farm and Lakes
What's not to like about this site? The place is immaculate, grass cut regularly and no grass clippings to worry about getting dragged into the van. The CL is separated from the fishing lakes by a thick hedge, and the walk around the lakes is very pleasant. The site is well sign posted on the entrance and Mike the owner is very nice. The only negative is we found it impossible to make our receive mobile calls. Certainly it is the best CL we have ever used and we only use CL sites. We shall return to the site. The Big Cat Santuary across the road makes for very interesting sound effects.

Fabulous, campsite and fishing lakes

Roland House Farm and Lakes
All about this campsite is perfect, the owners are so helpful and very welcoming, the poor owner has to tell everyone that there is no toilet and shower block, which is printed in the book and she keeps asking for it to be removed. All the areas are so well look after and must take a lot of effort to keep it so good. The fishing is a extra bonus, which is very good.

Excellent Cl

Roland House Farm and Lakes
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of October Even with the terrible weather over the last few weeks the site was immaculate Fishing was quite easy from the 2 lakes with plenty of carp surrendering to my rods Aerial displays and multiple parachute jumps occurred during our stay (nearby aerodrome) and listening to the lions roaring in the evening from the nearby sanctury was a treat There is a railway line that borders the property but in didnt detract from our stay I would have no problem reccomending this site to others and i think we will return ourselves next year when the weather is better

Fantastic site

Roland House Farm and Lakes
This is one of the best CLs we have ever stayed on. We were welcomed on arrival and taken to the site which was kept meticulously tidy throughout our stay. Through a little walkway were the fishing lakes (Sam's Lakes). These lakes were excellent! My husband caught his biggest fish yet which was a 20lb Grass Carp. He was very happy! There is a small cafe by the lake and the couple who run this were also very helpful - especially when my husband tried to land his fish! Definitely a site we would like to return to.

All CL sites should be as lovely as this

Roland House Farm and Lakes
We have just spent a week here on this lovely site and can say without doubt it's the very best CL that we have had the pleasure to stay at. The owners are very welcoming and approachable they keep the whole site perfect. The lakes are so well looked after everything is clean and a real pleasure to fish in such perfect surroundings. The nearby village of Headcorn is a gem we had fresh bread daily from the bakers the butcher next door was excellent great produce and good value. We live in Kent so not too far for us as we live in east Kent on the coast the area around the site was a lovely contrast very pretty villages and countryside, lovely to hear the wild cats at the big cat sanctuary close by. Can't recommend this site highly enough look forward to many more visits .
