Great site for a base to explore, lots of National Trust premises

Hilders Farm Cottage
This is a nice site in a central location for lots of National Trust sites such as Chartwell and Wakehurst Place, among many more. The site has a slope where the electrical hook ups are but if you have a long enough cable you can park on the level part. There is water and a waste water pit. It is close to the reservoir which is within walking distance but fenced in most places … It is generally quiet with local traffic on the road near by and geese flying overhead a lot. TV reception is good and internet is 1 bar on 4 G The owner, Emily,is friendly and welcoming. We would go back there as a base again.

Lovely

Hilders Farm Cottage
It's a small CL, there's water, electricity and chemical disposal point. Plenty of space for 5 caravans. Friendly welcome. All the pluses previously mentioned. If you want good internet - this isn't your place. There is 4G, just not all the time. The road really isn't a problem - though when approaching with your caravan it is rather narrow, and yes, cyclists are really noisy!! My dogs loved the place and so did I.

Lovely friendly Family run Site

Hilders Farm Cottage
We enjoy a yearly trip to this site, yes there's a slope, but the owners provide large blocks for leveling , if you park at the top of the slope you get a view over the reservoir, the lower area is flat. The owner is friendly and helpfull. We can highly recommend this site for touring the local area

Pleasant site

Hilders Farm Cottage
When approaching from the north you leave the B2042 at Cooper's Corner, heading south down a slight hill through trees. The site is on the left between the road and the Bough Beech reservoir. The site slopes down from the road to a flat area at the bottom with room for four caravans. If you are the fifth van there is a flattish area near the site entrance. Although this gives you a lovely view over the surrounding fields, with the reservoir in the distance, it puts you only 15ft from the road. Traffic along it is not really busy, but fast and somewhat noisy although this is not a problem at night. A good site for visiting National Trust properties including Chartwell, Emmetts Garden and Knole, all worth visiting.

Perfect location

Hilders Farm Cottage
We stayed here for 5 nights so we could meet up on a couple of days with our daughter and her boyfriend after months of separation due to the pandemic. The position of the site is just off a main road - but the traffic is minimal during the day - and practically non-existent at night. We pitched on the flat and Mrs Vicary very kindly offered us the use of an extension lead so we could utilise the ehu. The grass could have perhaps done with a cut - we noticed the grass had been cut from the fence line on the run up to the entry gate - but not expanded further out into the field - which was a shame really as the ground was pretty "lumpy" - other than that we could not fault the site. We tend to leave our motorhome in situ when we visit and cycle everywhere. Fortunately most of the attractions we visited were within cycling distance (Chartwell, Hever, Emmett's Garden) and the power assist bikes came into their own - especially with the amount of hills in the area! We also walked a loop to Four Elms and back, following the designated footpath signs. The walk was absolutely lovely. I would highly recommend this friendly, welcoming site if visiting this part of Kent. The countryside is stunning - and at this time of year (April) the bluebells are prolific and a joy to see.
