Wrongly Priced - Noisy site albeit fantastic if you fish

Pittlands Fishery Caravan Park
I have to give just 2** for our personal use of this site. It deserves more "if you love to fish". The site is beautiful with many lakes, it's looked after and is a Fishermans dream but a caravaners nightmare. Its noisy most to the time with heavy industrial lorries passing day long, and evening and all weekends, almost none stop. I do Feel sorry as there is nothing the owner can do but a review has to tell the facts. TV signal very weak. The site is wrongly priced on here the CC it is not £15 PN but £25 PN. With the noise level i am sorry to say at £25 PN it added insult to injury. I may have been more forgiving at £15 PN. As you arrive if no other vans are on site there is NO signage to know where to park, so look out for the electric hook up posts. We had to phone the owner to ask where to park due to lack of signage. The fresh water is off the field tucked behind to loos that need a refresh. There is a bar on site and you can get a cooked breakfast there. In fairness if you fish its worth the disappointing noise level down this tiny backwater lane.

Well kept CL

Pittlands Fishery Caravan Park
Reasonably flat, very well maintained site. Short distance down wide lane from main road. Directions in club book say via Collier Street, but might find it more straight forward from A21 at top of Lamberhurst by pass, first left via Horsmonden. We tow an 8ft wide caravan and no problems at all. Lovely area, ducks on site currently have ducklings, a pair of Egyptian geese and plenty of pheasants. Facilities clean and fishermen keep to themselves. Allan the owner gave us a warm welcome and lots of information about the local area. Have put 4 stars for peace and tranquility as the lane can be quite busy at times.

A very peaceful and welcoming destination

Pittlands Fishery Caravan Park
For fishermen this is a wonderful place to visit it comprises of 3 well stocked lakes with carp up to 30lbs and many other species of course fish. The lakes are easy to get to and all the pegs have amply sizes for all your gear and if you forget something there is a small shop that sells bait etc. There is a café on site which is open for breakfast and lunch well worth a visit and an extra bonus sandwiches can be bought to where you are fishing by somebody with a big smile. The caravan area is very spacious and has electric hook up to all areas. The site has 3 toilets men women and a disabled. The shower has just been updated along with the gents toilet the ladies and disabled will be up dated during the winter months we are led to believe. These at times can be used by the fishermen who stay over night but we never found them dirty. The owners are continually maintaining the overall site by mowing gardening and planting it is a lovely site to visit Though the site states no dogs this can sometimes be over come by having a very well behaved dog which must be kept on a lead at all times and they are not allowed around the lakes. Shops are near by in Paddock Wood if you don't want to cook there are plenty of take away available. Would I book again I have and were looking forward to it. 5 stars all the way

good for fishing

Pittlands Fishery Caravan Park
We found the site to be very easy going and no one bothers you and the pitches were in a lovely spot BUT there is a downside. Why the facilities state the toilets are exclusive to the caravanners I do not know because the fishermen use them as indeed they can use the showers and there lies the problem---the cleanliness of both leave a lot to be desired. The whole time we were there the toilet was never cleaned in fact I had to clean up at times. The "warden" has a full time job so you hardly ever saw him and the gardener also had a full time job but he was extremely helpful when approached. On one occasion I had a fisherman knocking on the shower door demanding I hurry up ( no doubt that when I left he would enter even though admittance was with a key that costs £2.00 a day---thus bumping up the cost of a stay-----better value at other sites without a doubt!!) I have to say that even with all these concerns we enjoyed our stay the wildlife helped But don't expect cleanliness to be the top priority.A shame because this site could be a top CL.
