NICE CL WILL STAY HERE AGAIN.

Whymans Farm
Happy with our stay at this CL. It is a working farm & the CL is a large field, plenty of space. Nice and quiet. The toilets are good and there are good recycling facilities. Easy access to water & chemical disposal point. We arrived after heavy rain but the motorhome was fine, parked OK and more importantly moved OK the next morning, by the time we arrived back in the afternoon the ground had dried out. The only thing that spoils this CL is the pile of hardcore at the side of one of the barns, but that would not put us off staying again. The owner is friendly and helpful. We struggled to find the CL as the address says Stilebridge Lane, on reading the directions in the handbook it states that the entrance to the CL is in Underlyn Lane, we didn't read this - only ourselves to blame for getting lost. The CL sign is not very easy to see from the road. Overall a nice site that we will visit again if we are in the area..

Spacious area. Friendly owner. Good facilities.

Whymans Farm
Barbara welcomed us on arrival - lovely lady. New toilet block, very useful and clean. Unfortunately the site is next to a very busy road, the traffic (including lorries) starts zooming past at 5 am weekdays (so if you're going only at a weekend, wouldn't be too bad). We found it much too noisy and left a day early due to this and the power cutting off and on for most of our stay (though I'm sure Barbara will get this fixed quickly as she is very efficient and easy to talk to). Quite far from everything but if you just wanted to go for pleasant walks, this would be fine.

Kent Mega

Whymans Farm
We were down in Kent to attend the geocaching Kent Mega being held at The Hop Farm nearby but we decided to stay at a CL because we prefer the peace and tranquillity that CLs offer and this one fitted the bill perfectly. Lovely big wide field, dog walking on site, plenty of wildlife around to watch and Barbara was so welcoming and helpful. Kent is a gorgeous county with lots to see and enjoy and have planned to go back and we shall stay at Whymans Farm for sure. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend to others. Thanks Barbara and it was lovely to meet you. Jackie & Derrick

A Few Days in Kent.

Whymans Farm
Stayed on this site the week before last for three days. Barbara's son was in charge while she was away for a few days. So we were very much left to our own devices. Not a problem. The site is a large open field and pretty much flat. We were sort of 'passing through' this time but would go there again. The only complaint was the horrendously jammed roads around Maidstone. Never did get there. Uckfield is a nice town though and we had a lovely day out on the Bluebell Railway and just around the corner, Sheffield Gardens (NT)

My first CL visit. What have I been made missing?

Whymans Farm
Just spent a four day break here and really had a good time. This was my first time on a CL and didn't know what to expect. I had been talked into trying it by a fellow member.  My journey, to the site was a very challenging one as operation stack was one and the M20 and surrounding roads full of displaced traffic. I soon forget this as I drove along some nice seanic countryside, gentle twisting roads humpback bridges and various duck ponds. This changed with roadworks that closed the road. Wasn't on any traffic warnings. The diversion took me down a very narrow single track road with little passing places. I wasn't flavour of the day I can tell you and I wasn't happy with the scratches I gained from the hedges along the way. But on my arrival, this all disappeared.  I found a lovely field with was realitively flat ( a few rabbit holes to avoid ). I was greeted by Barbara who was as friendly as could be. She said I could park and set up anyway I wanted. When I explained that hers was the first CL and I fact the first grass pitch I had been on, she offered good advice and said to contact her if I need anything. I was advised of the local area and places to eat and get supplies. And also told where the footpaths were and that I was free to wander in her fields as well.  There was a power cut in the area that lasted a for a day and give credit to her, she made the effort to keep me informed and checked up that everything was ok.  This is a lovely place to stay with a truly genuine person that cares enough to ensure that you enjoy your stay but let's you get on with it. I will return and for longer next time. Highly recommended to others to consider staying here if you want a relaxing time.
