Why stay here ...

Barleywood CL situated 8 miles from the beautiful North Norfolk Coast close to Burnham Market and Fakenham. The site itself is set over 1 acre of well-maintained grass with all clippings removed and very free draining. Pitches are well spaced out with access to 16amp electric hook ups, picnic tables and plentiful taps. There is also a fully oil centrally heated brand new shower and toilet block and laundry facilities. An information hut provides plenty of information on local attractions and eateries. Fridges and freezers stocking the basics are provided for your own use. We have a litter point and are keen on recycling. There are chickens on site and we sell fresh eggs. An abundance of wildlife visits the site including barn owls, red kite, woodpeckers, goldfinches, buzzards and fallow deer. This site is adults only and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

The site is an excellent base for walking or cycling the 43 miles of coastline. There is a place for fishing in the village along with many dog friendly pubs in the area. The local bus will stop outside if you flag it down. Some facilities and attractions are available in nearby Fakenham including shopping, gas, cinema, bowling and a selection of take aways. Amazing find

Barleywood
A fabulous find, Barleywood CL in Norfolk. David and Lorna are excellent hosts. There when you need them, but not in your face. A washing up room that has a washing machine, tumble dryer, (charge for use) kettle, microwave, fridge and fridge freezer with milk, ice lollies and other goods for sale with an honesty box. Two shower rooms, with hand basin and toilet in each one. Again immaculate. There is a charge for using the showers. Again it’s an honesty box. Large grass pitches, that like everyone’s lawns are suffering with the dry weather. That’s not a criticism, but I read a review complaining about them. I am not sure what the site can do about the weather! You can pitch in any direction. No worries about being nose to nose on a site this size. EHU and water to each pitch. Grey waste can be piped anywhere on your pitch. Chemical waste disposal area. £18 a night. We have enjoyed it that much that we have booked for 2024! It’s hard to get in it’s that popular. PB

Beautiful site to watch the snow falling horizontally!

Barleywood
We came for a relaxing break and some dreadful weather gave us that opportunity! Not sure I’ve ever seen horizontal snow before, thanks to a strong easterly wind at the same time. But we were snug in our caravan at Barleywood. Their frig and freezer were well stocked with essentials (and treats!) so we had no fears of starving. The site is impeccably tidy, clean and well kept, with water and electric on each pitch. There were never more than 5 outfits on site, which was good for such a nice large field. Had a friendly welcome from David who pointed out the direction of sun during day (somewhat ironic that info turned out to be!). Barleywood is obviously well loved and well used. There are other cl sites along the same road but we didn’t notice many ‘vans on them, so that perhaps tells its own story. A little traffic noise during peak hours, but blissfully quiet at night. Well done Barleywood. We might be back- if we can find a space in your busy booking schedule!

Excellent

Barleywood
This was our third stay although the weather wasn't kind to us we thought maybe a few more hardstanding would be a bonus as because of the weather very muddy under foot and quite slipperey but on a good note the site was lovely and the owners was very nice the toilets and showers was amazing and very clean bit disappointed that you have to pay to have a shower but hay ho if that's what the owners want to do that's up to them but from a campers view you have to keep remembering to keep 50p to one side the added bonus is the little honest shop where you can buy lots of things Lorna & David are very nice people it goes to show how good the site is you have got to book miles and miles to get a place well done to you both see you again fingers crossed

Gem of a site

Barleywood
It's no wonder that this site is always booked up. From the welcome to the facilities all 5* The 'extras' are a lovely touch the bench mark has been set and going to be hard to match. Thanks Lorna and David we shall keep checking to see if there are any cancellations for future visits
