Conveniently located just north of Newark off the A1, Orchard Stables is set in a 23 acre equestrian centre on the edge of the peaceful, historical village of Collingham. Offering you the chance to get away from it all yet still be within walking distance of the village with all its amenities, whether you fancy dining out in the two local pubs, having breakfast in one of the cafes or maybe grabbing some supplies from the local shop then relaxing on site watching the horses pass by.
Orchard Stables is crisscrossed by footpaths and bridleways leading to nature reserves and bird sanctuaries, so be sure to bring your walking boots. With direct access to the Sustrans 64 cycle path, the site is an ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts. Or maybe you’re a keen fisherman and would like to try the River Trent, a short drive or a healthy hike away.
Visit an abundance of cultural local attractions, from cathedrals and castles to National Trust houses and gardens. Alternatively stay closer to site and watch the local tennis, bowls and cricket just across the way.
There's just about everything you'll need in the village, as well as the pubs and cafes, you'll find a pharmacy, fish and chip shop, a chinese and a butchers. If you wish to travel further without your car or motorhome, there is a bus stop and a train station to take you to Lincoln, Newark and Nottingham.
Maybe you'd like to bring friends or family that don't have a caravan or motorhome, if so please look up our en-suite cabins on Wigwam Holidays Orchard Stables website.
The site is on level well draining sand with water on the EHUs. There is a brand new single shower and toilet plus a pot wash. You will also find an information hut full of leaflets and local menus located at the rear.
This is an adult only site and well behaved dogs are welcome if kept on a lead.
Please note - Do not let dogs run up to horses. Do not pet or feed horses without the owners consent. The yard is out of bounds. From time to time you may experience the glorious aroma of wood smoke coming from the adjacent glamping site, this is only when the hot tubs are first lit.
