Extremely Disappointed

No welcome, just an honesty box to put your money in. Pitches are located beside a very very busy track road, tractors, lorries, cars whizzing by. Not safe for children or dogs. Very dusty and noisy. No water hose beside the CDP. Chickens roaming everywhere so can't let dogs off lead. Nowhere to walk dogs off the lead. Not at all suitable for children or dogs. On our last day they closed the road outside the farm. The owner didn't bother to tell us and if it hadn't been for 2 kind ladies attending to their horses we would have been stuck without being able to get home. Generally very disappointing and a shame.

Peace and Quite

We have stayed here a couple of times now and enjoyed a positive experience on both occasions and found it to be good value. The site is large and generally well maintained, the access road carries a fair bit of farm traffic and can get muddy in wet weather, however it is paved and the pitching areas are fairly level so the risk of getting stuck is minimal. The site is well placed for a number of circular walks with direct access to the Viking Way long distance path, most of these walks pass one or both of the villages two pubs, both of which are dog friendly and serve food. Free range dogs (and chickens) do occasionally wander on to the pitching areas from an adjacent property but as far as I am aware these are nothing to do with the site owner who lives elsewhere in the village, and in any case are not really a problem. As well as the CL I can recommend the two village pubs, the nearest being just yards from the site entrance, and defiantly a visit to Hambleton Bakery, on the road to Exton.

Greetham CL Rutland

We have been to this site about six or seven times and unlike some of the reviewers have never seen any dogs off the lead. (apart from dogs owned by Caravan Club members) Lots to see in the area and nice walks from the site. We often telephone the owners and ask if they have any spare eggs when we visit, very fresh and usually very large. There is some traffic from the farm road to the chicken sheds, but it's not unduly excessive, it is a working farm when all said and done. As for the occasions when there are 10 vans, I believe that there are two CL's, 5 vans on the the first CL section and another 5 vans on the top CL enclosure. Well worth a visit, a great CL at a very reasonable price, you won't be disappointed
