Our best go to site

Bisbrooke Hall
It’s huge, it’s calm, it’s sheltered. Amazing parks and walking nearby, but not good for walking dogs from site, we have 5 so we load them into our truck and visit the many beautiful places this area has to offer. There is a tiny bit of road noise but after a few Chenin Blanc who’d notice. Just a lovely place.

Our July Stay

Bisbrooke Hall
What a great site. A large field, plenty of space, grass beautifully short as per picture. A Warm welcome from very Friendly owners. Within easy reach, Oakham, Uppingham, Stamford, Market Harborough, great for town walks and street markets. For mountain bikers from the site, Rutland water is just 4 miles north on roads and tracks. Include a trip to The Hambleton peninsula, a circular ride of Rutland Water, what a great day out!!! We stayed for 10 days and we were the nearest caravan to the road. The faint road noise did not bother us at all. We will be back.

Lovely CL

Bisbrooke Hall
Excellent cl, three acres so plenty of room. Grass mown and tidy. Water, cd point, recycling and bins. Easy access off the A47, but surprisingly quiet when on site. Would definitely use again. Have given 5 stars for all, but fifth icon doesn’t work.

Lovely stay

Bisbrooke Hall
We stayed here in July for a 4 night stay. Lovely back to basics site, very well kept, very spacious. Very nice location to explore the beautiful countryside of Rutland. Great for walking and cycling direct from site, some care needed as the busy A47, is just outside the site, but once away from this, beautiful countryside. Welland viaduct about 10 minutes away, well worth a look, a truly amazing structure. Rutland Water about 20 minutes drive away. If you are looking for a site that offers true old fashioned caravaning this would be hard to be beaten.

Nice site but not for dog owners, dog lovers

Bisbrooke Hall
Apart from the fact that the GPS location for the site is woefully wrong, this is an easy site to find as it is right alongside the A47 and yet, when on site there is next to no traffic noise. The site itself is large for just 5 vans and the grass is kept short and it would appear the cuttings are collected which is a real bonus. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with some stunning villages to be seen and as for the truly amazing Harringworth railway viaduct, well what a feat of engineering that is still in use to this present day. My major concern with this site is the dog walking or rather danger and or lack of it! There is a small field which no doubt sheep graze in at certain periods of the year that we were directed to, to exercise our dogs. However, at the time of our visit in early August, there were so many fully ripe wild oats growing there and as any dog owner will/should know, the husks of wild oats are exceptionally dangerous for dogs either between their toes or in their ears, so for us, that field was a serious no, no. So we thought we would walk down the road in search of some narrow country lanes, but the entrance to Bisbrooke Hall has a cattle grid which has no pedestrian gate access, as such getting our 3 spaniels past this obstacle was a major and seriously dangerous problem and then, when past this, I am sorry to say the verges next to the pathways alongside the main A47 were in such deplorable condition, they were almost totally overgrown with stinging nettles and brambles. And finally, the A47 at this point is so exceptionally busy, I for one as a keen cyclist, wouldn't ever ride along it. But despite this, we loved the site, but it could be a great site if for only a small amount of effort. OH by the way the GPS location of the main entrance is N52.59454 W0.68343 and not as given in the 2019/20 Sites Directory Handbook.
