Brilliant

Marsh Farm
This is a fab adult only CL, situated adjacent to the canal. It's a great place to explore the area from, on foot or by bike if you don't wish to move your vehicle once set up. We cycled to Bath and the canal path was quiet on a sunny August weekday, really easy to travel on. Pitstops are readily available en route. We'll be back to cycle the other direction to Devizes and Lacock Abbey which is also nearby. The site was blissfully quiet on our visit despite being full (5 units) and the facilities were clean. We appreciated the friendly welcome and helpful information.

Idyllic setting

Marsh Farm
If you want a peaceful break by the canal, come here. A small field right on the edge of the canal, and we could watch the boats going past from our pitch. It’s well kept, bins and water were right there. Emptying toilet and grey waste meant a 200m walk up to the other site, but that’s no real bother. The owner walks through the site every day, checking everyone’s happy. It’s a shame some people don’t think they need to keep their dogs on a lead, despite the owner asking. That’s not the owners fault though. We cycled both ways on the towpath, it’s a lovely peaceful stretch. Brilliant site for the price.

A lovely little gem

Marsh Farm
We also really enjoyed our stay on the CL. Where else will you find a site that sits, quite literally, on the bank of the canal? You can literally sit and watch the passing boats and if you enjoy nature, watch & listen to the birds. We were even lucky enough to see hot air balloons (one of which landed in the field behind us!) and the Red Arrows passed by us one morning too! We're an active, retired couple and it was perfect for access for cycling, walking and we even launched our kayak. We enjoyed endless sunshine (pitch nearest the private road and side onto the grassed area and you'll get the evening sun). It's a lovely cycle into the stunning town of Bradford-Upon-Avon. And a gentle kayak either direction is very safe - we chose to do so outside of busy times and the canal boats just meander gently by. This CL is slightly smaller than many we have stayed on but you are surrounded by beautiful countryside. The owner is exceptionally welcoming and eager to please - nothing too much trouble. It is a no-frills site but, we like that, it's authentic and the location that counts!

Marsh Farm
Well, contrary to some reviews on this CL, i found it to be perfect for what i was looking for..peace and quiet. I didn't mind the walk (100yrds) for the showers, which were adequate for a rural, working farm. Considering most people would choose this site for the towpath walks, i don't understand a short walk to the loos being an issue. There's 2 parts to this farm - the 1st area is serviced, and a lot closer to facilities, the other area is the CL, 5 pitches, park where you want, beside the canal - so it's 50/50 - if you want close to the loos, go there, if you're not worried about a really short walk, then i would choose the CL part. There's no hook up by the canal, but that's suited me as i have solar on the van. (even if i didn't have solar, i'd probably still choose that area) Julie, the owner was lovely, very approachable and already planning my next trip back there.
