Tyn Rhos Caravan Park is set on a family-run dairy farm on the edge of Snowdonia National Park (Eryri), just 8 miles from Betws y Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia. Surrounded by breathtaking 360-degree views of the Snowdonia mountain range, you'll enjoy stunning views of Snowdon (Y Wyddfa), the highest peak in Wales and England, along with all 15 peaks in the range. The site offers 5 spacious pitches, including 2 hard-standing and 3 service pitches all with full service connections for electricity, water and grey water, also a modern shower block with a disabled wet room, washing machine, and dryer.
Although set in a rural location, Tyn Rhos is conveniently located just a quarter-mile from the A5, providing easy access to North Wales by car. The Giler Arms, a local pub serving food and drinks, is only a 2-minute walk from the park, while Bocs Bwyd, a charming café and sandwich bar in the heart of Pentrefoelas village, is just 2 miles away.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Llyn Alwen and Llyn Brenig are just a 10-minute drive away, offering bike hire, lakeside cafés, children's play areas, fishing, and boat rides. If you're seeking adventure on a larger scale, Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), Wales' largest natural lake, is just a 20-minute drive, offering water sports such as windsurfing, paddleboarding, and canoeing.
Tyn Rhos also provides easy access to coastal destinations. Popular seaside towns such as Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Pwllheli, Abersoch, Barmouth, and Harlech (with its iconic castle) all about an hour away. Plus, the A5 will take you quickly to Newborough on Anglesey.
For families, there’s no shortage of fun activities! The Zip World forest-based adventure parks in Betws Y Coed are a must-visit, offering thrilling zip lines and outdoor experiences. Just 5 minutes away, Glan Y Gors Karting provides adrenaline-pumping karting fun, while the National White Water Centre (20 minutes away) offers exciting rafting experiences. Animal lovers will enjoy the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay, and for a family favourite,Greenwood Forest Park, just outside Caernarfon, offers a mix of outdoor play, rides, adventure trails and soft play.
For mountain bikers, the area is a paradise. The Marin Trail, set in the stunning Gwydyr Forest near Betws Y Coed and Llanrwst, is a top choice, while the Penmachno Trails (just a 10-minute drive) are often called the “hidden gem of North Wales mountain biking.” In Blaenau Ffestiniog, the Antur Stiniog Center offers exhilarating downhill trails, and further afield, Coed y Brenig boasts an extensive trail network catering to all skill levels, complete with its own visitor center and café.
