Situated right on the edge of an elegant spa town, Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite is located within the 'Best Mate' arena and viewing area of Cheltenham Racecourse, directly opposite the main grandstand and at the finish line of the racecourse. With a high percentage of hardstand pitches, whilst on slightly sloping tarmac, you are offered mesmerizing views of the racecourse itself as well as Cleeve Hill, providing a very good chance of securing a hardstanding pitch giving you more opportunity to tour even during inclement weather! Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite is a desirable site and the perfect base from which to explore the delights of the area. The town of Cheltenham is just one and a half miles from the caravan site through a nearby park, or you can use the convenient regular transport service provided by the Park and Ride. The site is also well placed for visiting the City of Gloucester with its Cathedral and other historic buildings.

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite puts a wealth of fun activities within easy reach. With its tree-lined promenade and colonnaded buildings, the Regency Spa town is an absolute pleasure for the pedestrian. Regent Arcade provides a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants and you will want to take in the sight of the delightful Wishing Fish Clock. The Everyman Theatre is available for those wanting to experience a little culture as well as enjoying the scenic views of its well maintained gardens. Why not experience the thrill of the races? Famed for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, held every year in March, the racecourse has fixtures throughout the year. All in all, the caravan site offers enough memorable attractions to keep visitors returning time and again.

Nice spot

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite
Used this site as we were having a family occasion in Cheltenham. Very good location and the views are spectacular. It was the first day of opening for the year so it was very quiet. My wife had an issue with the ladies showers but this was quickly resolved by the helpful staff. The shower blocks although old were clean and well modernised. They were very cold as the heating was not on. The heaters are wall mounted fan heaters. I would suggest that perhaps these should be replaced by more modern efficient heating possibly using solar panels on the roof. The site is in the car park of the course and slopes steeply especially in front of the stand. Levelling blocks are a must. All in all we had a good stay. Uber taxi into Cheltenham was £7.00 Will use again.

Not a restful site

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite
We have stayed at this site a number of times purely because of the park & ride service into the town centre. However, as this is a racecourse, there seems to be constant comings & goings at all times - both day & night connected to the racecourse. Vehicles and machinery being used at antisocial hours and this morning we had a generator & power washer going from 7am to past 1pm. Yesterday there was a delivery (?) at 8am crashing crates which echoed throughout the site. These annoyances are common to every stay we’ve had on this site. Unfortunately, the gypsy fraternity will occasionally break into the park & ride car park and camp there causing the residents of the Club site to ring for access from the site security and you need to run the gay through the thoroughfare whilst Jack Russells snap at your heels and children swear at you. I would say the site staff are pleasant and obliging and keep the place clean but if you are looking for an undisturbed nights sleep or restful break - don’t come here!

No better than three years ago

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite
Unfortunately this site hasn't improved since i was last here. The staff were rude and unhelpful and gave us the wrong directions to the pitch, after complaining about the booking and where we'd parked on arrival - in pitch blackness. It's basically a soulless car park in the middle of the racecourse, with signage you're not likely to see if you arrive after dark. There are much nicer and better run club sites in the vicinity.

excellent staff.

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite
Marcela and Richard couldn't be more helpful, good access to town walk or bus, bus routes to several places and some nice cycle routes into Cotswold's, the grass pitches are best quite a bit of a slope on hard standings, will come back.

An interesting site

Cheltenham Racecourse Club Campsite
As everyone says the view across the racecourse to the hills is really nice. The site slopes a lot and more so with the non-electric pitches which slope diagonally and I could get nowhere near level with ramps. The grass pitches slope the least. There is refrigeration plant in the centre of the stand which I found intrusive particularly at night. Pitches near the ends of the stand are less affected. The facilities are adequate just not attractive. Pittsville Park is a nice area to visit and not too far to walk. There is a path around the course but in places it is narrow with nettles and as I was wearing shorts I had to retreat. There is no convenience stores or pubs nearby.
