Why stay here ...

In an area which traditionally has a mild, warm climate making it an excellent summer getaway, Blackpool South Club Site is level and open, with good screening from the road. The caravan park gives visitors convenient access to the town of Blackpool, which as Britain's premier seaside resort offers non-stop amusement for the whole family from morning to night. Children can also enjoy the playground on site, and horse riding which is based just around the corner.

Blackpool South Club Site is an ideal gateway to the beautiful Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Famous attractions include The Sands and the Illuminations (late August to early November) and the Blackpool Pleasure Beach where you will find thrilling rides like the tallest, scariest roller coaster in the UK.

But the reasons to stay at Blackpool South aren't limited to the city limits of Blackpool. Just a few miles south of the site are the more relaxed towns of Lytham and St Anne's, famous for their golf courses and elegant shopping arcades as well as beautiful restaurants and exhilarating walks. St Anne's has plenty of sandy beaches ideal for families, and in Lytham you can take a leisurely stroll around Lowther Park or along Lytham Green. Blackpool South Club Site really does have something for everyone anytime of the year.

Lovely site

The positives: location; assistant wardens; pitch; ability to get into Blackpool. The negatives: location; warden. If you want a site right at the end of the motorway on the edge of Blackpool, this is an ideal base to use. Just get a bus into town using the Blackpool transport co app. It’s easy. There is a bit of noise from the motorway, but it’s not too bad. There is also a pervading smell of horses as the seafront horses are stables nearby. On arrival we met the assistant wardens are they are great. The warden was away, we met him on our last day when we were having issues gaining access to the motorhome drive over. Instead of helping - he ignored us. We drive on Spanish plates, did he not want to get involved with a “foreigner” ? Eventually he lifted the barrier and we get through. Being sticklers for the rules, apparently we drove the wrong way.... but it’s not obvious that one road is two way. It was an irritation and spoiled the end of the break. If we hadn’t had the issue / met the warden, it would be 5 stars all round.

Deserves more visitors

Despite visiting in late August we found the site had lots of room. The wardens were welcoming and pleasant and the site well kept. The site is flat and well laid out and has easy access, although some pitches are in rows on gravel, with no grass which is not for us but we found a nice pitch at the rear of the site. Blackpool is not for everyone but there is plenty to do there for all ages and children do love it and there are numerous other things in the area. The site is a short drive from the front. For those who have not tried it, I would give it a go for a few nights

A hidden gem

This site is spotless and clean, the wardens are great here very very friendly and can not do enough to help you. (they should go train south-port wardens). All smiles and welcoming and the site is very well looked after. Toilet blocks maybe 15+ years old but they are very CLEAN! We love this site no hassle and very accommodation. Its A hidden gem! One of the best sites on the network :)

Great Wardens and Immaculate Site

Just returned from a lovely 8 night stay (2nd time this year). We have been members for 30+ years, visiting this site over the years and the current wardens here, Julie & Glen, have made this site truly special. The pride shown in the site , from the beautiful planters, the welcome, helpfulness, cleanliness of the toilet block and very well stocked information room is a credit to them. Wardens always visable doing lots of jobs and throughly knowledgeable about the whole area which is great for newcomers. The little play area is great for little ones and nice to see it has been kept as some others sites (like Buxton) have removed them. The shower block could do with an upgrade like other sites are getting, but I guess its costly to do such things but hopefully its time will come !. Thanks for another great stay from The Murphys.

Average site, poor customer service

Upon arrival the female assistant at reception welcomed us thus: said our surname to confirm it was us. Then, without any ceremony or warmth, and in one breath, told us the amount owing "eighty six pounds ten". We were dumbfounded in respect of her clear lack of customer service skills. I spent the remainder of the break fuming. The lady that was in Reception when we handed in the fob as we departed was the total opposite: warm, courteous and friendly. The arrival assistant spoiled the whole experience, resulted in in-caravan rows, and almost made me cancel Membership. I know this has (so far) been an exception to the rule but perhaps CMC could look at Customer Care training or at least send round a Memo. The site itself was clean but lacking in ambience (or is this opinion coloured by my experience?).

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for your review, I am sorry to learn you were unhappy with the service received from our Site Staff. Our Site Staff are the face of the Club and providing excellent customer service is something that we always strive for. We always welcome the opportunity to formally review any disappointing experience and we would ask that members send this in writing to us rather than leave site reviews as the site reviews are designed for a review of the site and your experience as a whole and may not been seen by the correct department. Further details of our feedback, complaint and compliments procedure can be found on our website here: https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/contact/compliments-and-complaints/
