Great CL site

We have just stayed for 10 nights on this exceptionally large lovely CL site. Nicky met us on arrival with a lovely welcome and lots of local information her and her husband Andy are a really nice and helpful couple. The site is huge with plenty of room so we had an awning, sun awning and 2 large sets of windbreaks up just because we could. We had the choice of where to pitch, sun or shade there was plenty of choice. The only draw backs we could find was the road noise that didn’t bother us that much but could be very noisy when motorbikes decided to open up though their gears and the fact there wasn’t really a good dog walk from site although the field is plenty large enough to walk around. The owners made our dog very welcome. We would highly recommend this site.

Good Location

The owners are very pleasant and helpful people but not in the least obtrusive. The 5 acre field offers loads of space so you can choose how far to be from your neighbours! Overall the field is fairly level but it is a bit bumpy. Unfortunately road noise is a problem particularly with motorbikes. The location is good, with easy access to many places, including a bus service to Oxford.

Very warm welcome

What a lovely CL site. Andy and Nicky are so welcoming and informative about the local area. We’ve just spent 3 nights at this excellent location, it’s very spacious and we were given the choice of where to pitch and advised of the sunniest spot! There’s plenty of lovely walking along the Thames, Dorchester is very pretty and easy bus links into Oxford. Thank you Andy & Nicky you are great hosts.

Little gem of a site

We stayed for four nights on this large and peaceful site. As already mentioned by others Nicky and Andy are great hosts and we were met on arrival and shown to our pitch. 16amp EHU was a bonus and we will be back again in the future

Lovely short break.

We spent 4 nights at this gem of a CL, beginning of May. A very warm welcome from Nicky and Andy. Advised where to pitch to make the most of the sun. The field is large with more than 5 hook ups enabling you to pitch as far away or as close to others as you wish. Great location which enabled us to meet up with friends we hadn't seen in 30 years, lots of walks and places to eat, but be warned as lovely as the food was, The Checkers pub is very expensive. We will return.

Plenty of space

Great communication with owners and clear directions. Nicky the owner extremely helpful and informative. Site is Huge and you can almost park where you like. But if we stayed again we would park away from the road as traffic noise can get quite loud especially in rush hour. Basic facilities water, elsan, EHU. Shame no wc for the price. To catch buses into Oxford you need to walk along the busy main road which ends up being a grass verge (so need to take care) the P&R for a motorhome is way too expensive at £8 per stay plus bus fare so we just used the normal bus. Pleasant stay would probably go again.

Simply the best!

We stayed on this huge, flat site for 8 nights. It was our first visit but I certainly won’t be our last. The owners, Nicky and Andy were really lovely: helpful and accommodating. Great advice was given by Andy about where on the field was best for morning or afternoon sun. With so much space, even with the full complement of units we felt as if we were alone on the site. The chemical emptying facility was always spotless and easy to negotiate. The fact that the site has a key code to enter makes it extremely safe. It is in a great area for exploring, and both the buses and the park and ride which takes you into Oxford are close by. (6 miles to the latter, 10-15 minutes to the former) and you can use your senior's bus pass on both. Dorchester is only a mile away and had many pubs and cafes, and the fish and chip shop in Berinsfield (1 mile) is the best! The local pub was great and walkable too. All in all, I would recommend this CL to everyone, whether you want strenuous bike rides, city visits, quiet riverside walks or simply a sit in the sun outside your caravan,

What a fabulous site

We stayed here last week for 5 nights…what a fabulous CL . So much space and a lovely friendly welcome from the owner . We had a great time walking parts of the Thames path with our dog, lots of places to stop for a drink and something to eat…….it was so so convenient for us we drove less than 50 miles all the while we there . There is a little Co-op in Dorchester on Thames for provisions……. We will definitely return to do some more walking

A superb CL

This is a first class CL. We stayed for five nights in early December to visit the area and had a very pleasant stay. Nicky met us at the gate having asked us to phone when we were near and made us very welcome. Access from the north or south is easy as the site is just off the A4074 and the turn in from the Burcot to Dorchester road is straightforward. The field is large and flat with good 16amp power and two water points. The waste disposal arrangements are modern and easy to use. The position in relation to Oxford, with a nearby bus stop, and with the rest of south Oxfordshire on the doorstep is ideal for visiting the city or touring this interesting part of the county. Andy and Nicky are very kind and helpful with abundant local knowledge. It is no surprise that they have quite a following. We will be back!

Another great CL

First small bit of advice:- after leaving Abingdon and travelling EAST towards the Compass Inn it is above 6/7 miles so don't worry. This is another really nice very spacious site which is well kept by a very friendly and accommodating couple. The pull in onto the site is long enough to take a long outfit while waiting for your hosts to open the gate for you. If you like really top class food try the Compass, it's not cheap but it is very very good. There are also excellent watering holes in Dorchester a pleasant walk away.
