Best Cl we have stayed at .

Right from the warm welcome to goodbyes 7 days later we can honestly say what a delight to have chosen this CL site for our first visit to Anglesey As our reviewers have confirmed it has a  view to die for, available every morning when the blinds go up. The location, just off the A5025, is perfect to drive north, south or to their parts of the island, getting your head around the names of towns and villages! The Bull pub provides the complete answer for a non- cooking day, with the roast very acceptable, with a pint of house beer We had a ball, The weather helped a bit too ! Mr and Mrs Barber's Red Wharf Bay site clearly epitomises what a good CL should be  all about. Chris &Linda Brown - June 2014

Great View, very relaxing

Lovely sea views of Red Wharf Bay. All the pitches are arranged to make the most of the view. A ladies and Gents WC with hand wash basin, very clean. Soft toilet tissue and liquid handwash a nice touch. Easy walk down the lane next to the campsite to the coastal footpath which you can take in either direction. A short drive into Benllech. On our first night, we couldn't be bothered cooking after a long journey and then setting up the van so we popped into Benllech and tried some fish and chips from the chip shop next to the Tesco Express. They were delightful and I'm told, award winning...I can see why. A venture to Red Wharf Bay is repaid by sampling a fine ale sitting outside the historic Ship inn. The views across the bay whilst quaffing real ale is my idea of a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Happy

Easy to get to with great view

There are loads of CLs on Anglesey. This is the most expensive we’ve stayed on, and the only that charges an extra £2 for winter use. But it is justified because it is easy to get to with good access, all weather pitches with great view and well located for the Anglesey Coastal Path and A5025: the busy Anglesey circular road. Gateway wide though outfits approaching from the north will have to swing out across the road to turn in. CL owner Mrs Barber met us as we pulled into their large gravel drive/parking area next to their bungalow. CL is other side of bungalow and slightly downhill which screens the A5025 traffic so you are aware of the traffic but it isn’t intrusive (thus loss of 1 tick on ratings). All pitches are hard stands. Pitches 1-4 surrounded by grass and sloping. Campers need pitch 5 which is just about level. Owners have plenty of levelling blocks available. Pitch 4 has gravel approach so can be used all year. Pitches 1-3 grass approach. Pitches 1-2 are close together – the others more spaced out. Great view of Red Wharf Bay – even in the rain. The Bull is less than 100m from the CL entrance – carvery less than £7. Quiet lane to Red Wharf Bay starts 45m from CL entrance and is 1000m to edge of bay. Anglesey Coastal Path goes round the bay and beyond in both directions. At the very highest tides this section will be under water, but is accessible under most tidal conditions. Path to left has muddy sections and goes to Red Wharf Bay village (25 minutes). I recommend calling in the Old Boathouse Café for coffee and cake. At low tide condition continue round the headland on the sand to Benllech. Alternatively at the end of the CL lane turn right and walk about 2 miles through the sand. This goes through a car park on the beach which is 5 minutes’ drive from the CL – handy if 1000m lane is too long. CL is open all year so ideal for out of season.

Great CL!

Just spent four days on this site and it's beautiful! Waking up to that view of Red Wharf Bay and The Ship Inn was fantastic. Mrs Barber was very friendly and helpful. No showers but toilets/washroom (cold water only) were spotless. Plenty of "off-the-lead" dog walks nearby and The Bull Inn next door does very good value carvery to save cooking. ;-)

A very pleasant stay with a stunning view

We returned yesterday from a Bank Holiday stay on this CL. We have only ever stayed on 2 CL sites before and that was approximately 15 years ago. We have really enjoyed our stay and all 5 pitches overlook Red Wharf Bay, what a view! Mrs Barber is a really pleasant and helpful lady and we had a great greeting from her and her little dog. We went to the local pub for a meal one night and we enjoyed that. We walked between 5 & 6 miles on Sunday which took in Red Wharf Bay. We used our caravan facilities so cannot comment on the toilets but I did hear someone say they were spotless.

Beautiful views

Lovely site with very easy access and stunning views. Immaculately clean toilets wih sensor activated lighting to guide you in the dark. Pleasant, helpful owners. Two pubs nearby, but worth the very pleasant half-hour walk on the tidal path (which can be muddy) to the Ship at Red Wharf Bay which serves remarkably good food.

A touch pricey for a CL

Yes it is quiet, yes there are toilets (cold water only at basins), yes it has EHU's but at £17 per night (£15 most of the year but extra October to March- first site we have come across to make this extra charge) we could have got a club site but they weren't open at this time of year (Feb). Photos cleverly show the views by zoom, not quite as good by naked eye. Very easy access and lovely walk down to Red Wharf Bay.

We love this site,

If you want peace and quiet, to be left alone to chill and yet someone there if you need them this is the site for you. We are always made to feel welcome whenever we visit. The views are brilliant and there is nothing like watching the sunsets over Red Wharf Bay. There is a regular bus service from the site entrance, and lots of lovely walks. A narrow lane down the side of the site leads to the beach, if you turn left you can get to Red Wharf Bay, although it can be muddy. The pub (almost next door), do a lovely carvery and not over expensive, there is a small village within walking distance for supplies, there is even a local chinese takeaway.
