Arrived on site to be greated by the very pleasant Mr Jackson. He gave us maps of the area and town centre with useful supermarket, parking etc information, also a map to his stunning land. Over 200 acres of orchards and lakes, such a stunning beautiful place. We walked for miles around his land with our dogs, respecting the young wildlife and his beautiful orchards. The total area is so photogenic. The caravan site itself is set out so well lots of space for everyone. It was lovely watching the birds at the bird feeders every morning and evening, also a shed with lots of information of local places to visit of interest. And the bonus of free wifi. We visited Ross the local historic town had lovely walks with the dogs by the river and plenty of shops to visit also.. we went walking at Symonds Yat a must for all walkers and cyclists. It would be very hard to find anything wrong with this CL site it is just perfect and the owner a gem of a gentleman so friendly. Will definitely be visiting again and gets my No 1 vote for the CL site of 2015 .
We absolutely love this CL Site so beautiful and quiet, acres and acres of orchards that are great for walking the dogs. 4 small lakes with plenty of wildlife to catch on camera. The little site is set out well and each pitch has lots of room, as you enter the site gate theres a small slate plaque with each caravaners name on it showing which pitch you are on. It has a good chemical disposal point too. The lovely owner Mr Jackson greeted us as we arrived and gave us maps and info of the local town Ross on Wye. Lots of places and countryside to see and visit near the site which has good access roads. This site will definitely be getting my vote in the 2015 Best CL Site competition. We will be returning to this site 100%. There are 2 small market towns nearby Ross on Wye and Monmouth which have lots of shops and small cafe's for you to enjoy. All I can say is well done to Mr & Mrs Jackson for having such a perfect site and letting us share it with you. And to top it off there's free wifi on site too!

This CL is very easy to get to, being just off the A40, but a word of warning if approaching from the Westbound A40, you need to turn right across a dual carriageway, so be prepared. My sat nav giving me a 2 mile warning was very handy, but there are early warning/direction signs. Thankfully, the 'gap' for turning was big enough to get my car and van out of the 'live' lane. Arriving on site it is clearly marked with a CL sign and there is a chalkboard with names/pitch numbers as you drive into the field. the field is pretty flat with short grass and was very firm, so no difficulty driving in and parking up, we used our levelling ramp, but I did spot some flat 'bricks in the hedge bottom that would have done if we hadn't got one. The pitches are all in the one field with easy to reach EHU, a fresh water tap and through a gate is a waste/elsan tipping point (liftable inspection cover) and a really handy, high pressure hose for rinsing out. Andrew and Heather gave us a warm 'welcome' on the afternoon of our 1st day, as we arrived quite late and they rose considerably earlier than us, so left us in peace in the morning. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The WiFi was very good on the site too.
The field is teeming with wildlife, swallows and housemartins swooping round all day, numerous other birds, including a regular Greater Spotted woodpecker and families of rabbits. Despite its proximity to the A40, we had to strain to even hear it. The views are lovely across the orchards and over through the trees we could just see Goodrich castle peeping through the trees. There is stacks to do within a very short drive, Raglan castle is spectacular, Symmonds Yat, Ross on Wye and Monmouth both lovely towns and the Forest of Dean. We really liked the fact that we were given 'right to roam' over the CL owners estate, which is extensive and they provided a map with their boundary marked, strolling through the orchards and by the lakes was a really nice way to while away a few hours. Our only regret is that we were only there for a weekend. One I think we will definitely go to again, as it is such a nice site and so much to do.
