Lovely CL

HappyLovely CL Shame about the weather! This is the first time we stayed on a CL and I don't know why it has taken so long! Not far from local attractions and the beautiful Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, we stayed for 7 nights. Mr Jackson the CL owner was very welcoming and gave us an insight into the area. The added bonus was free WIFI so you could look up places to visit. We will be back, perhaps in the summertime.

lovely CL

just stayed 3 nights here.  Mr Jackson was most helpful and very welcoming.  he found a space for us in his upper orchard and was happy for us to arrive late.  He left out great signs on the site to show us to our pitch and talked us in when we had difficulty finding the site in the dark.  The sight and entrance is pretty obvious to be fair, just a couple of nettles was enough to obscure the signage for us in the dark.  The orchards were lovely, the pitch pretty flat.  Water and a bin near by.  Altogether great and close to Ross on Wye, Symonds Yat, Monmouth.  Only 1 1/4 hours away and we were at Rest Bay in Porthcawl and the Brecon Beacons!  All perfect, we will be back. ??

Excellent CL

Lovely rural setting infront of Orchard, gentle slope, distant views. Easy access from secondary road. Beware if coming up A40 from the South, this road is poorly sign posted and easily missed. Otherwise well described from north.

Brilliant Site, Great Value for money

Arrived Friday PM on the 24th May 2013. Lovely sunny evening with a spacious pitch with views over the fields and hills. The owner of the site was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We visited Monmouth which is only 10 miles away which is well worth a visit, lovely individual shops with plenty of places to eat and drink. Ross on Wye is only a 5 minute car journey away. Our dog enjoyed the walks around the site, through the fruit orchards. We will definately be back, hopefully at the end of June.

A good touring centre

Easy to find, well laid out. Friendly welcome. Small information hut onsite with loads of info on local places of interest. Clearest skies I've seen for a long while. Loved it. Situated on a large fruit farm, you have many miles of circular walking routes which are great for morning or evening walks. But take a torch when it's dark. With Ross-on-Wye nearby and Hereford within 20 miles we found it a great site to explore the area from. I would definitely recommend this CL and will be returning if the opportunity arises. Cheers all, Alan & Julie Matthews

Cold weather but warm welcome

Great location and excellent site will be back in the summer. Suggest a visit when blossom on fruit trees out. Nice walks in surrounding area and Ross is only a short distance away. Warm welcome from owner who came and told us about local attractions on evening of our arrival.
