Superb site

This was our first time at Carsington and we were surprised at the layout of the pitches which made everything cosy and picturesque. As a dog owner we loved the long dog walk which has numerous access points. Lovely toilet block which was clean and piped radio coming through. Very friendly staff throughout and good tv reception although our phones were not working all the time. Will definitely go again

Snow in May ;o))

We visited for the early May Bank Holiday, we arrived at the end of the day to a very warm welcome from the wardens. We managed to get onto one of the pitches overlooking the water, fantastic views (#14) with lots to see with the binoculars. Site was well maintained and it was very clear to see the effort that the wardens put in to keep it clean and looking good. We walked around the reservoir and stopped for refreshment at the Miners Arms, we returned for the Sunday Carvery and had great banter with the staff. We also went to the Knockerdown Inn for dinner, where the Landlady made a massive fuss of our dogs allowing us to shelter from the cold and snow.... In May ;o). A great site look forward to another visit.

Lovely

Our first trip to a caravan club site, we certainly hope they are all as nice as this one. The showers and toilets were very clean, lovely surroundings and the site was very well cared for. Wardens extremely helpful. Booked again already, thanks for an enjoyable stay.

What a lovely clean site

What a lovely site and so close to Carsington water you can walk to it from the site. Staff friendly and helpful. Only one toilet block but plenty of showers and toilets and central to the whole site. Showers spacious.  Added little touches, radio playing in the toilets, a planter of herbs for you to help yourself etc. How thoughtful. Large pitches under the pine trees reminded us of Caravanning abroad. Only problem was a power cut but that wasn't the fault of the site as it was off at Carsington water as well as other areas. Had the gas to fall back on and a generator was bought in by the evening. Shall visit again in the near future.

Just two nights

Our first visit here and it's now near the top of our fave sites list. Quiet (listen for the birdies), spacious, great views throught the trees and even got it's own woodland walk overlooking Carsington Water. A long thin site with only 1 newish TB so pitch accordingly. Lots to see/do and the family run C17 Red Lion in Hognaston has very trad & welcoming interior, lots of locals and well presented food. Possibly walkable via footpath but we drove as raining. We'll most certainly be back to walk all round the reservoir and enjoy the excellent local ices again at the Visitor Centre!

Great site with good, clean facilities

This is a super site and one we enjoy returning to. It is a peaceful haven above the reservoir in the plantation. The facilities are clean and were updated not long ago. There are play areas for children that many enjoy. Good views from various vantage points from the site. The wardens gave a warm welcome and were there to help in any way they could to make your stay a great one. We enjoy walking round the reservoir and exploring the local area. Super weather this visit apart from a thunderstorm. All in all, a welcome break for us both and chance to be out in the fresh air.

Wonderful site

We stayed at Carsington for the first time early May for 4 nights and considered this to be our best club site to date after 5 years caravaning.  We had a pitch around half way between reception and the facilities block overlooking the reservoir.  The weather added to a super stay -  sunshine throughout. Very peaceful,  excellent facilities,  helpful staff, a well managed site, some great walks; ideal. We will be back.

First Timers

Well we couldn't have picked a nicer site to spend our very first caravan experience at. The welcome from reception was excellent, finding our pitch was really difficult as there were so many nice pitches to choose from. The site itself is beautiful, very quiet and pleasant and secluded within the pine plantation. Everyone on site was friendly and the warden was very helpful. The walk to Carsington Water Visitors Centre is a lovely walk. The facilities on site were really clean and tidy. The showers were spotless. Overall we had a fantastic stay here at Carsington Water and we will definitely be going back.
