Perfectly placed

We stayed here for 2 nights and could have stayed for longer! We were greeted with friendly smiles and helpful advice from the wardens and chose the top part of the park, which was lovely and quiet. Overall the park spotlessly clean and well kept. Really impressed with all the facilities. The dog walk around the site was perfect, fenced off and secure for off lead walking. A bus stop outside the park was a bonus, although we did not use it on this visit, we are likely to do so another time. The site is within walking distance from the village, and The Farrier looked a lovely place to eat, but we were not organised enough to book in advance, again perhaps next time. We visited the beach and the lovely little cafe shack for icecream and a cuppa. We could thoroughly recommend this site and will be returning!

Lovely Site, Very Modern Too

We travelled down from Scotland and took a chance on a site we have never been to before. The staff who greeted us were very helpful and even told us the pitched for maximum sunshine. The park is very modern but well established. The location is perfect for day trips to Scarbrough and Filey, with a bus at the entrance to the site. We had a few chats with the wardens who were lovely and full of useful information. These guys never stop working to maintain the high standards of this beautiful park. The most important thing for us when we get to any park is to check out the toilets and showers, they are 5 star at Cayton. We will definitely be making this trip back there this year The Moore's

Happy Campers!

This was our first visit here - check in was smooth and greated by a friendly warden who explained the layout. We decided on a pitch on the top site as the bottom site was very busy. We have a continental motorhome with the hab door on the drivers side,so we were asked to drive into the pitch so the door was facing the same way as all other vans etc- not a problem to us.The site is beautifully tidy and the grass is short and neat, a little lacking in character as there's not much in the way of shrubbery, hedges or flowers etc. As others have commented there is a fair bit of noise from the housing development but it didnt really bother us. The shower and toilet block is good, spotlessly clean and there were a lot of water points and bins dotted around. There is also a really good dog walk around the perimiter of the site. Cayton Bay beach is about a 25 min walk away and it's lovely, dog friendly and pretty. Fish and chips from the village chippy - average. We had the most beautiful weather which added to our enjoyment, and the site was very quiet at night. Definitely a re-visiter!

Lovely site

Stayed for 3 nights on our touring holiday. Chose a pitch on the lower half, well laid out good sized pitches. Beautifully redeveloped. Shops and pubs in village a few minutes walk. 30 mins walk to beach. Lovely wardens.

Not going to be our last visit

We have always booked Bridlington site for the east coast, we made a choice to try Cayton so glad we did, lovely welcome from the staff on arrival everything explained clearly. Having not been here before we were not sure what to expect from the split site were surprised to find how busy the bottom part is and an oasis of space on the top part, we booked a serviced pitch which was flat and level (128) . Site facilities spotless and very well maintained. There is slight noise from the new build behind the site but not enough to detract from a peaceful weekend. We took a walk to scarborough on the Cleveland way took about 2 hours inc stops a bit up and down but worth the effort for great views. On our return we walked to one of the local pubs would definitely recommend the Farrier lovely place friendly staff. Overall a pleasant peaceful stay will definitely return. Thanks to all the staff for keeping this great site a pleasant place to stay 😀

First visit

This was our first visit to this particular site. First impressions were very positive and the staff were really helpful. The major disappointment was the lack of wheelchair access to the on-site shop. There is a step to get into the shop and this was really disappointing as all the rest of the site was fabulous for access. I did raise this and advised that the only way I would’ve been able to do any shopping would’ve been to have sat outside the doorway, asking whoever was serving to gather items required on my behalf! This would not of made for a happy lady if it were raining! I was told that it would be raised with the regional manager. However, this has recently been refurbished so why was this not dealt with at the time of building et cetera. Our pitch was a good size but in order for me to have close access to the disabled facilities we were right next door to the children’s play park and I can tell you it got Got very noisy at times. However, we did book during the school holidays and to be fair children do play and make noise lol. Also we were offered the option to move to another pitch which we did decline. The dog walk was disappointing- it was just a track which went round the perimeter and was right next to a new building site! I have no idea what they are building At the time of writing this. On the whole it is a large site with an upper and lower section. There are glamping facilities and we were not too close to those. The facilities were spotless and there was a mobile fish and chip shop and a pizza van That visit once a week. It’s a quick car journey into Scarborough and there are public transport facilities right outside the site.

BRILLIANT site with FRIENDLY and HELPFUL team.

The team at Cayton are brilliant, friendly and helpful. The site is maintained really well and the facilities are spotless. The shop is stocked with everyday stuff at GREAT prices. The location is great for beaches and the local pubs ( 3 of them ) are minutes walk way. Fantastic site, could not fault.

A Great Weekend

A great site, ideally situated to get wherever you want by car or public transport, bus stops directly at site entrance the staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities are immaculate and kept that way. The pitches are spacious and level and the best bit is there are three pubs within a few minutes walking distance. We shall be back.

A site of two halves, we were on the wrong half.

What a shame that CAMC didn’t take the opportunity to widen the pitches on the top half of the site when the redevelopment happened. The bottom half of the site from the entrance is very nice, spacious and generally well kept. The top half, the original site I believe, is awful. The pitches are not wide enough for the usual setup so you have to park your car in front of the van, which makes for a lovely view and also the feeling of sitting in a lay-by if you’re sitting outside. Easter weekend so the site was full and because of the tight pitches the top half looks and feels like a car park. Just awful. Stay on the bottom half and the site is great. Fabulous location, new and clean facilities. Easy walk to the beach at Cayton Bay. The Farrier pub just out the back of the site is lovely. Shame the off lead dog walk has been closed off. As mentioned in other reviews, the housing estate being built next door is in the early stages and will cause noise and dust issues for a while to come, so be prepared to put up with it.

Well laid out site

Stayed on site from 18th to 21st April. Very impressed with new well laid out site. Very friendly welcome. Pitches very spacious and not too close to neighbours. Toilet blocks very clean and warm. Good dog walk. Nice and close to coast and good location for visiting The East Coast resorts. Definitely one to come back to.
