Disappointing

Nice friendly arrival and was advised lower level was full so directed to upper level. Most pitches on this level were very narrow, perfect size for motorhome and awning but caravan and awning had to park their cars on front of pitch. Far too many pitches were crammed into the available area, squeezing everyone in like sardines and to be honest the site looked like a carpark in places (particularly the central area). Then of course the pitches where not level! The rules for dogs were not followed by several on this site. On 1 occasion we had to lift our dog up in the air to stop a confrontation from a dog not on a lead. Members had not cleaned up after their dogs on the dog walk and we had visit from neighbouring van where the dog although leashed had gone under their van and wandered through to our pitch. A dog yapping continuously did not add to our enjoyment either. We did had problems with TV reception at times so another missed opportunity for the club to add ariel connection to electric bollards during the upgrade? The wardens on the site were all friendly and the shower blocks were spotless, they even had a lovely clean smell but there are 2 toilet blocks which are both closed at the same time for cleaning 10.30 - 12.00 Also the buckets for the bands are on the ground which is ok for the fit and healthy but I struggled due to an injury and it must be an issue for some with disabilities. There were 2 nice play areas for the children and a little shop on the site. Grass and hedges well maintained, the site in general was clean and tidy Cayton bay is fairly close and within walking distance. It was very busy at weekend but almost deserted on a weekday visit. Buses stop frequently directly outside the site for Scarborough and Filey, both places very busy but ideal for families. Cayton village itself has a couple of shops for essential needs, a wax melt shop where handmade gifts are also on sale plus a fish and chip shop that was not open during the time shown on board in window. There were also a couple of pubs in the village.
