The site, as you would expect after a big refurb, was clean and well maintained. check in was easy and staff very helpful, even under pressure when a customer was openly admitting he had messed up his own booking but was still blaming the staff and demanding the kick someone else off the pitch they wanted!!!!!!!!!!!! nowt as strange as folk. Anyway the pitch we had was good longer and narrower than normal so the car was parked to the front and not the side but not an issue. the site is with easy walking distance of Cayton village and it's stores and pub's. there is a Morrisons superstore with in a 10 min drive for any extras the village store may not have, as well as a Costa and McDonalds if you crave that as well. Cayton Bay is with in an easy walk, but it is about 2 mile (ran there and back a few times) away and down a steep path, the way we went anyway. but well worth the effort. there is a surf and paddle board shop there as well the Park and Ride site is with in a 5 min drive as well if you don't want to take the car all the way in to Scarborough or there is a bus stop right outside the camp site. All in all of out 3 site tour of East coast this was the best.
