Good for families

Good now and will get even better

Stayed for a week at the end of May 2018. Good security. All interaction with staff was great and very friendly. Location is good as it is possible to walk to a great beach (20 mins it took us). Short drive to Scarborough and bus service too. Stayed on the Laurels part of the site. These pitches were all fully serviced and further apart than the older part of the site. These pitches only wide enough for van and awning and car has to go at front, but not a problem as good amount of grass between them. The old part of the site was not so good - very little space between pitches and some had no car space at all. I think the plan is to change these next year. Glad we booked laurels. It looked like many of these were fully serviced though. There were lots of seasonal caravans which made the site look busier than it was. I did wonder whether the toilet facilities would struggle if all pitches occupied, but for half term, never had an issue. The toilets were clean and acceptable, but I have seen higher standards at other club sites. Site was very peaceful. A good dog circular walk allowing off lead walk through the trees around the laurels part of the site. Please retain this in your development!! This wasn’t well signposted though and I stumbled on it. I thought there was a large field for walking the dog before I went but this had been the case and the walk of the old site was fenced off to form a short path that really poor and inadequate, so finding the Laurels one was good! However Cayton bay beach is dog Friendly. As we don’t have young children cannot comment on their facilities, but there was a playground. The only visit to the village was to use the post office/shop. We did stop at the Tow Bar pub at the holiday village on the way back from the beach which was OK. Overall a good week and I’m sure this will be a great addition to the club and be very popular.
