A Good Few Days

Arrived at the CC Cheddar site for a 4 night stay. Haven't been to the site before but it is close to relations so easy for us to visit them. Ensure arrival after 1pm as last 150 yards is down a very narrow lane with no passing places. Friendly welcome from the female warden. Spacious pitches, excellent wi-fi and clean toilet block but with very small shower cubicles. Large Budgens supermarket and a Tesco Express within walking distance. Follow instructions in info hut to walk to the village as this keeps you off road. Some noise from football club next door but nothing overnight so only sound to wake you up was birdsong. Good location to visit Cheddar Gorge & caves, Wookey Hole, Wells and the Somerset coast.

Fantastic few days

We were very lucky to have stayed at Cheddar cc site last week. The staff were really friendly and it felt like they had a genuine interest in your comings and goings. Site was spotless, showers lovely and hot when you had spent a long day walking. Ideal location to walk the gorge, (We walked up the free National Trust side and could see the people on the opposite cliff top doing just the same as us but they had paid for the pleasure!) The caves themselves are fairly pricey but we actually found lots to do without actually visiting them. The cc site itself is fairly small but mainly hard standings. No dog walk onsite but when you come out the entrance your straight onto a river bank so a walk is on your doorstep anyway. The only snag I would say is if you have energetic children then there isn't much space to play onsite, with no ball games allowed, but for us that wasn't an issue. It was lovely having the only noise being the birds first thing in the morning, you really feel tucked away out of the rat race! We will definately be returning again, thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely Site

Spent a long weekend on the site over Easter. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. We loved the idea of breakfast croissants and baguettes for sale over the weekend! The facilities were tidy and well looked after and there were no waits for showers - even though the site was full. I would definitely recommend a visit. When the weather improved, it was a great place to go for walks without moving the car. There is plenty to do nearby. It seems good for families but as a couple on our own I would not know... There are places to play but not on site.

Good for short break

A typical caravan club site, all up to scratch with friendly wardens. Good area for walkers with pubs and restaurants in the village, an easy walk from the site. A bus nearby is available should you wish to go to Wells or Weston Super Mare, without driving.

Could make slight improvements

Stayed at cheddar club site for a long weekend, have to say that the site is wll kept and run by cheerful and helpful wardens. The only improvements that I would suggest is that the toilet /shower block had more showers, the block has four small showers compared to other cc sites, the pitches are of a good size, but again the site here has no fully serviced pitches. We stayed on pitch 7 which is next to the football ground and got a good deal of evening sun. The only downside is that if you have a satelite dish on your outfit the tree line blocks this out, I am aware that not all people watch TV when they are away but if I'm to leave a review I like to comment on everything I can. All this apart the site is in a great location to the village of cheddar and a bus ticket enables you to visit all the local surrounding area, we enjoyed our stay here and would visit again, if the site is full there is a cl site opposite the main site.

A wonderful location

I was pleasantly surprised by Cheddar and it's perfect for dogs.  There are long walks along the river which is right outside the gate and Cheddar itself is really dog friendly; there wasn't anywhere that my dog wasn't welcome including the excellent vegetarian restaurant (The Sitting Room) right across the road, and The Bath Arms, also a short walk away. The site, as always, was spotless, and the wardens as welcoming and friendly as I've come to expect from the Caravan Club!

Cheddar camp

Very nice quiet park beautifully maintained (manicured) we would have stayed longer if we could. Excellent showers/toilets not really the place for a family, in my opinion.
