Good position but a few issues

Spent 3 nights here from 20 July.  Well managed clean site that would benefit from more & larger showers.  Access by narrow lane would be improved  by traffic light system as used at Merrose Farm.  Cheddar village & gorge has good selection of eating places to suit most pockets.  Numerous places to visit within easy reach including the centre of flower power in Glastonbury.

Overall a Good Site

We stayed here for 10 days. We are a family with four children. There was very little for the children to do as there is no play area etc. I wouldn't recommend as a family site. It is disappointing that the Caravan Club do not make there overall package more child friendly. Caroline and Neil were very friendly and helpful. The site is located well and we enjoyed all the local attractions.

Nice time on Cheddar

Lovely quiet site within walking distance of all the Cheddar attractions. Very friendly, informative and efficient staff. Supermarkets close by. Booking advisable at The Bath Arms.

A pleasant site

We had 8 nights here. The site is quiet and well maintained. There is no dog walk or play area, but as we have neither dogs nor children this was not an issue. it is certainly a good idea to follow the club's directions for getting to the site and for walking into Cheddar. The Bath Arms is a short walk from the site and is well worth a visit for something to eat.

Enjoyable stay

Lovely site we were luckily not under any trees the wardens Caroline and Neil Rhodes were very helpful and friendly also hard working the site is a credit to them The toilet /shower block although kept spotlessly clean could do with a makeover just an observation Walking into Cheddar you must use the foot bridge as the main road is so dangerous turn left out of the main gate under the bridge and the foot bridge is on the left. We have a bus pass and there are many places to visit using the local bus service going into Wells there is a bus station and connections are good Overall I enjoyed the 12 nights we stayed and would most definitely stay again

Enjoyable stay

We stayed at Cheddar 11th -17th July our second visit.Very friendly helpful wardens who never seemed to stop working a clean and tidy site. The toilet block although tired is clean but could do with a makeover  Waking to the village should never be via the main road use the foot bridge by turning left out of the site gate.If you are lucky enough to have a bus pass using the local bus service is a great way to travel the bus into Well means you can reach most places  Over all a very pleasant visit

Great location

Stopped hear for one night has a  halfway break before going to came ford the following day Great location for  going into cheddar to see all the sights. The sight was very well kept and the shower blocks and toilets were always spotless. The sight is next to a football stadium which has a club there must have been a do on has we could hear loud music till about 1 o'clock in the early hours.hopefully that doesn't happen to often.best thing his  select a pitch further away

nice site

Nice site, relief wardens very friendly & helpful, make sure you use the footpath as suggested, as the road route is dangerous. shame no dog walk on site, but access to off site path does the job. Cheddar village needs a 'make over' but you can get most of what you need.

Excellent centre for walking and sightseeing

A nicely laid out sight with spotless facilities. Well managed by friendly, helpful wardens. The tree-lined pitches on the site lose the sun early and pigeon droppings are a nuisance to outfits, particularly awnings. The town of Cheddar lacks charm and the lower end of the gorge is very tacky. The town has numerous pubs, a petrol station and two mini markets, both expensive. Nearby Wells has a nationally, well known discount supermarket and a visit for the weekly shop is the cheaper option even taking the extra mileage into account. The surrounding area of Somerset is beautiful and offers wonderful walking paths, quaint villages and excellent country pubs. The Cheddar site is an excellent base for visitors to the area.
