Our first stay in a caravan.

We chose this site for our first stay, we were not disappointed. The site was open and bright while not feeling too exposed.  A very friendly and helpful warden greeted and guided us and offered advice and guidance.  ?? The directions on the caravan club website helped us avoid a very tight village while pulling our new van ?? Facilities were immaculate. ?? Cheddar gorge is beautiful and a short walk away ?? Cheddar village was beautiful. ?? Other site residents were extremely helpful and friendly as 2 obvious novices were struggling.  The local fish and chips were amazing.

nice break

situated a short walk from the town, there is a disused railway track thats well lit,and a safe 15min walk to the town. the site is spotless and roomy.relaxed and friendly atmosphere. the wardens were friendly and helpful.nothing was to much trouble for them. the town has a some nice pubs and restaurants. plenty to see and do in the area. the local reservoir is only a short walk, and is a peaceful pleasant walk.

Fabulous!

First time in the South West and what a treat. Immaculate site as usual with terrific easy access to the village (use the safe route as suggested) and to the Gorge itself. Also close to Wells and Glastonbury for the inevitable wet summer´s day! The Abbey is well worth a visit. Must recommend LaoThai restaurant/take away in the village too. Simply stunning food. If you like real ales/cider, try the Cider barn on the Wells road too.

Noisy Neighbours!

Nicely located site for walking into Cheddar or cycling along the Strawberry Line. Good facilities and friendly wardens. Football club next door - loud music/PA one evening that went on very late. Otherwise, nice place for few nights stop-over.

Really Lovely Site

My family spent 6 nights at Cheddar as part of our journey to cornwall. What a lovely pleasant surprise this location turned out to be. Its fairly tight to get in to, hence the 1pm arrival time you really don't want to meet oncoming traffic on that little lane. There is a football club at the bottom of the lane to stop at if your early. Facilities are lovely and clean, very nice. The supermarket is a 2min walk from site, make sure you walk up the lane and not down to he main road. there is no pavement and its a small tight road, pretty dangerous. If you go up the lane their is a safe route to the shop. We walked in to cheddar and up to cheddar gorge (with a 4 year old who walked all the way). Fab little souvenir shops, lots of sweet shops, ice cream shops and cider shops. We went to the water park from here which isn't too far away and also has a theme park next door which had the sooty show on, took me back to my childhood, and also an outdoor market on a Monday. Also a great location for day trips to Weston-super-mere and Stonehenge. Excellent cycle routes from this site. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay

Used Cheddar as a stop over on our way home from Cornwall. Lovely helpful staff and very clean site. Will definitely return for a longer stay to explor the area. Great location also.

Not the most peaceful place

The site is well run by very efficient, polite and helpfull people. Visiting this month (August) we found the site busy, which is great. Our only minor criticism was the football pitch next door where they were busy mowing the grass almost daily and testing the PA system then Saturday match day. Not offensive noise and not effecting the whole site I wouldn't think. Otherwise great and wouldn't hesitate to visit again if in this area. Thank you wardens. Photonut
