first great few days away 2015

A great welcome. From the Warden's, the site was as usual in good order. We had only one problem which we hold the caravan club responsible for, not the wardens, as there was no phone signal we rely on the WiFi but there was NO  WIFI SIGNAL AGAIN!! Come on caravan club we pay extra for this and answer would be nice please. Otherwise we had great few days  and will go back as there's plenty for our needs. Thanks to the great Warden's.

Very Pleasant Stay

Our first outing of 2015. A very warm and helpful welcome from the wardens. A large but spacious site. Peace and quiet, although I imagine in school holidays this would not be the case, that's why we came out of season! Plenty of walking and cycling available in Clumber park which was lovely. No mobile phone signal here, useful to know if that is an issue for you.

First Adventure

This was our first ever venture into the world of caravans having recently invested in one for our small family. I have to say that the site wardens were extremely helpful in assisting us newbies and other visitors to the site assisted with the most basic of questions. Such a positive experience for our first time and felt really welcomed by the community.

Wifi

When I enquired about wifi signal with ipad in hand(after no wifi sign erased on reception notice board)I was told sarcastically that 'well ive got it here' by the assistant warden! Well I sure didn't have it and neither did anyone else as I asked around, and I was pitched next to a wifi mast. Not having a phone signal is bad enough without having no wifi either, it should be made clear that there is no service as is printed on their leaflet and notices in the facility block advertising the prices for it ! Other than that a lovely clean spacious site

How long does it take to fix WiFi?

Clumber Park is our local site, we live only 30 minutes away so visit regularly.  And we do love the site.  But why is it that WiFi still cannot be fixed here?  For years WiFi reception has been intermittent, but with appointment of the new contractor last year I hoped for a final resolution. Well nope, it is still as bad as ever.  Last weekend it didn't even work if I stood under a transmission pole! Please can the Club note that for many members WiFi is now an essential utility - something the Government also now agrees with. How much longer do we have to wait for a fix here?????

First outing of the year

Just had our first outing of 2015, wanted somewhere close to home to sort out the motorhome & have a chill out couple of days. Site is lovely & quiet, facilities are lovely & clean, wardens really friendly. Phone signal was a bit iffy, the really annoying thing was the WIFI as per other comments this was not reliable & kept dropping you out every few minutes or you could not connect & when connected it was painfully slow - This is very annoying because I have paid for 12 months WIFI access while on Caravan Club sites, I must say this is the first site I have been to that have WIFI and had issues - This is the only reason I have marked it down on facilities & cleanliness - Come on Caravan Club sort out the issues with the WIFI especially as we have to pay extra to use it.

Winter

Clean and relaxing site. This is only our second visit but will definately go back again. The wardens are very helpfull and pleasant. Only downside is the Wifi which appears not to have been working properly on both visits and with younger children it would be a massive boon in the winter evenings. Recommended for a relaxing break.

LIKE COMING HOME

This site is like coming home. We booked for 2 weeks but stayed 3. It was nice and peaceful so you could relax and enjoy the site. The wardens were up to their usual perfection- well done and thank you. The WI-FI is a bit of pain as it was not working most of the time. As there is no phone signal the laptop is quite useful. Annoying as you pay for 12 months then you cannot use it. Looking forward to when we return.

Pleasant weekend

Another excellent site. Very good location for walking or cycling in the park or travelling further afield into Derbyshire. Close to A1 access. Facilities up to usual high standards and wardens extremely friendly. One concern, why do some visitors leave showers/toilets in such a mess? They seem to forget that these are shared facilities and the CC even supply a 'squeegy' mop to clean up! Overall however a pleasant weekend.
