The staff were friendly and accommodating. The site is interesting and large with pitches all well spaced and amongst the woods. We stayed in a caravan pitch near to the camping area to be near family camping - great area, with a park. The toilet facilities are kept clean.
There are so many walks from the site, and you can walk through the site to the lake. You can walk to Coniston comfortably from the site, and it is off road.
Big thumbs up for this site.
Fabulous site
This was our third visit and we chose a pitch at the bottom of the site near the lake. We were near one of the toilet and shower blocks, each of which has a different time for cleaning which is extremely useful. Also a drying room and we used this almost each evening for coats and boots etc after very wet weather. It's a half hour walk off road to the village but with superb views. Lots of different walks in the area for all abilities.
Lovely peaceful place
Stayed just for a couple of nights - the site is large and a bit confusing but very peaceful in the trees. Just a 5 minute walk away was the shore of Coniston Water - beautiful
The facilities were clean - as usual in club sites
The Black Bull in Coniston served amazing beer from their own brewery
Great location
A very large wooded site. The facilities are up to the usual club high standards and considering the size of the place, kept very well and never had any issues at all when using them. Most of the pitches are fairly level, ours was, but did notice some having to use ramps etc. Again, most of the pitches were of a good size, but did notice some that you'd struggle for awning space. What we really did like was the layout, even though it's a big site and was busy, it didn't feel it as the site's divided into loads of little clearings.
A few minutes walk to the lake, which was great for the dogs and water sports. Loads to do and see in the area, especially if you're into walking.
The walk into the village via the lake is suitable even for us hobbling old fogeys!
Lovely and peaceful site
We were pleasantly surprised with this site. Lots of nice spacious pitches with plenty options. It is a nice, peaceful place in a picturesque setting. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The facilities are immaculate with lovely hot showers. Also enjoyed the food truck on site, we ordered pre-ordered pizza for tea and enjoyed it. There is also a small but well stocked shop, which came in handy.
The location is ideal for exploring coniston.
We will certainly be back!
Our first trip in our campervan!! for the weekend..
So glad we decided to pick Coniston Park Coppice Club, as our first ever camping experience.
We live in the South lakes, so only a short 45min journey.
The site is great, set in wooded areas, after finding a great pitch and levelling the van up, we then pitched the awning, which was the only downside, the pegs were very difficult to hammer into the hard surface. (not helped by the hot day)..
The location of the site is excellent, the lake is close, however it was difficult carrying the Kayak with my better half.
Coniston village was an easy walk along the lake, helped by the glorious weather.
The site facilities were good, toilet blocks were great and spotless, the club shop had a good choice of items and not overly priced. We never used the food van so cannot comment on the fast food.
All in all, we had a great stay, the weather did help, the sun was out both days, and it was still dry and sunny when we left the site.
We will 100% visit this site again, and many times, due its location to both the lake and into Coniston, we also loved the size of the site, it was very peaceful, and well maintained..
Love Coniston Park Coppice
We live in South Lake District, but this doesn't stop us visiting this wonderful site . It's location is great, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the village, but near enough to be able to walk to all the attractions. The Bluebird museum has always been very good, but now the real bluebird K7 has returned home it is now magical. Great walks for all abilities and plenty of choice for meals out. Although quite a large site, the pitches are well laid out, generally level and in good order.
We have stayed at this site many many times and even had our Honeymoon here !.
Great and Unusual site
Stayed Easter 2024 for 7 nights. A huge site but so cleverly designed that by staying in wooded glades you never feel you are part of al large site. Tend to stay at top end of site away from the kids and families wjho seem to prefer to be more towards the lake side of the site. Spotless and clean toilet blocks even though one other visitor decided to take his dog into the Block - not good. Most dog owners keep dogs on leads but some choose to break the rules.
Very easy walk into Coniston either along the top path and old railway line or down by the Lake. Great Pub, The Ship. nearby when using the top walk with new owners who are making a real go of things and need our support.
Coniston can be busy but it has its charm and it is easy to get away from the crowds quickly when out and about walking.
First stay
We were made most welcome when arriving and the wardens (especially Neil) went out of their way to help us. The only downside is that many of the pitches are under trees so when it rains, there is a lengthy period of loud drips onto the roof on the motorhome which is a bit annoying! The walk into Consiton was muddy but not suprising considering the amount of rain that has been around. All in all, a nice site and friendly wardens
Great service from Lisa and Graham
When staying over Christmas in our campervan Lisa and Graham were on duty and my wife and I cannot say how welcome they made us feel on arrival and during our stay. They’d even created a Christmas quiz! When by mistake I’d left a pair of boots in a nearby lay-by after leaving they went the extra distance to search the lay-bys we passed heading home; all this in the dark!
