We really enjoyed our stay at Modbury Caravan Club Site. We stayed on Pitch 27 which was good for us and as the campsite was nearly full, it seemed a good place with hardstanding which we had booked. As it was August we expected children to be playing, but we didn't realise their play area was right behind our pitch! We found the facilities great and the staff very friendly. During the time we were there, it seemed like an international camp with French, Dutch and German families around too, all of whom were friendly. We went to Plymouth, Fowey, Knightsbridge, Saltash and Exeter. This is a great campsite for touring around this area. We would like to return to visit and explore more of the surrounding area.
Such a peaceful site
One of the most peaceful sites we have been on. The entrance is welcoming with all the grounds well kept. Would go back anytime

Gem of a site
Have been visiting this site for many years, and love it more each time. Lovely and quiet, always a pitch free somewhere, good location, convenient for beaches and moors, and this year wonderful, very friendly cheerful wardens. Well done, we will be back again this year.

Pleasant Rural Site
Super well maintained site with wardens who go the extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They work exceptionally hard on the appearance and cleanliness of the site and facilities. The toilet facilities are well maintained but could do with updating.
Wonderful peaceful site
Stayed at Modbury for seven nights and absolutely loved it. The approach road and the road into Modbury itself are a bit tight but slow down and take it steady and you will be fine.
Site immaculately kept. Toilet block spotless but could do with refurbishment. Be prepared to use blocks as quite a few pitches are not level.
Loads of places to visit. Dartmouth is our favourite - it is to die for, especially in the glorious sunshine. Salcombe, Totnes, Kingsbridge and Modbury all worth a visit. Bigbury on Sea great for surfers.
All in all a lovely site, lovely area and lovely wardens as well. What more could you want!!

Recent Visit
My wife and I have just returned from Modbury having spent eight relaxing and enjoyable nights at this serene location
The staff are cheerful and helpful in all matters and the site is manicured to perfection
The location is very central for all the South Hams attractions
We were very surprised that the site was as quiet as it was - a hidden gem to which we will be returning

Another great weekend
Another brilliant weekend at this site, and now definitely one of our favorites! Not the easiest to get to with narrow lanes through the South Hams, but absolutely well worth the effort!
Spotlessly clean and well presented, with a fantastic warm welcome from Jayne and Macky and the team, who could not be more helpful. The location has everything, city (Plymouth), Dartmoor and the beautiful South Devon beaches, all within half and hours easy drive!
Great place to put your liofe on hold
Wow what a great site
lovely walks close to hand village of Modbury is great
Site is wonderfully clean and well kept staff are amazingly friendly and the tent pitches have electricity
Will defo come back the only thing i could say is maybe another toilet block could help things
Fantastic stay
We have just returned from a weeks family stay at Modbury & this is one of the best sites we've stayed on - CC & privately owned. The wardens are lovely & work hard - the facilities are spotless. The pitches are a good size & the site is nicely laid out with hedgerows bordering it. My son made lots of friends & loved playing football & cricket in the large field. We really liked Modbury & had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Exeter Inn. The site is a good base to explore the area - Salcombe, Bigbury & lots of National Trust properties/walks. We have a camper van so the access didn't bother us - this is Devon - home of high hedgerows & lovely country lanes.
First visit
The South Hams area is very nice, but the access to everything is very tedious with the numerous passing places in all the narrow lanes.
The site seems very susceptable to winds which seem to come from America bringing with it lots of mist.Choice of pitch is limited due to the high number of seasonal pitches, most of which seemed to be unoccupied in the middle of July, including weekends.
Too many pitches require parking in front of outfit. Been there done that (as they say!)
