modbury in autumn

A very clean and well run site as most CC sites are. Even though the leaves were falling rapidly, they were never messy as they were collected quickly. the site is very quiet and the night sky extremely dark. The only downside, which is not the clubs fault, is the, (which appears to be) an unending single track road. However with caution this can be overcome. An ideal site for exploreing the South Hams area of Devon.

Graduation Visit

My wife and I booked Modbury as a place to stay whilst we attended our son's Uni graduation. The site was fairly sparse of caravans as it was the last weekend before the winter shutdown. The site itself was very pleasant and very peaceful. The site staff very pleasant. I have two moans; one was the power of the showers was very poor and the temperature didn't stay fixed. The second and this isn't something that Modbury can fix, but the location is the middle of nowhere. A wrong turn can put you into some extremely narrow lanes suitable only for a car. Showers are all important to a lot of caravanners!

Worth a Visit

We visited Modbury in September for one week, this was our second visit and we really enjoyed our time there. The staff (Girls) were really good, and worked hard to make everyone feel at home, well done. The lane I would agree can be a pain especially with farm traffic coming in the opposite direction but you can pass safely, just don't let them hassle you.

Our first cc camping trip.

This was the first time we have stayed at a site being new members.. the road leading to the site is a lane and a bit twisty but I thought it was easy enough and there are a few passing places. the only thing I would say is you can miss the site entrance in lower lights as the sign is close to the hedge. The wardens are really friendly and helpful as we needed a few bits of wood to help level the van as our blocks weren't high enough due to the slope on some of the pitches. The grounds on the site is really maintained and we went in October and they still looked really good. The shower blocks were tidy and clean. The wardens were always about doing things and keeping the site looking good. We would use this site again.

Late season review

Although we visited at the end of September the site was as immaculate as ever.Even so the wardens were constantly out and about attending to the grounds and facilities.The very tidy approach to the entrance was an indication of what to expect. Once again an excellent visit to this site. Unfortunately the road access is narrow and nerve wracking

Yet again brilliant.

Stayed here frequently over the years and still one of the best if you like the quiet. Excellent upkeep and friendly helpful and hard working wardens. I wish my lawns at home were as good as the grass here even the dog field is more pristine than I can get my garden. I understand they are moving on, a pity, hope the new wardens will keep up the standard it is now. All the best to the four wardens in your new sites perhaps see you in 2016.

A well kept site

Stayed on 14/15 th sept 2015 found the wardens very friendly and helpful the site was in an immaculate condition and the grass cut well The dog field was a great surprise and fenced, the toilets clean and warm will use this site again.

What a lovely site

Only stayed for one night but what a lovely site. The layout was great, the condition of absolutely everything was first class. The dog walk is great and what a brilliant field for children to play on. The Wardens obviously work really hard here and this site is definitely on our 'must return to' list.

Great Site

Visited last two weeks in August including Bank Holiday. A lot of rain overnight, was advised to have hard standing which proved excellent. The Staff work very hard and constantly to maintain the first class standard of this site. A great credit it to them - had a wonderful time there. A very restful holiday. Thanks.

Great Site

A return visit to Modbury was always on the cards - it had been our first CC site last year and we were well impressed then! And it is still great! Super friendly and helpful wardens, super clean site and facilities. Peaceful, yet within easy reach of great palces to visit. 5* - and the dog loves it too (best dog walking area! Other sites take note!). Will be back next year.
