Day 1 – 8: Camping L’Hippocampe
Day 1 – Arrive at Camping L’Hippocampe (C09)
Meet your fellow members over a welcome drink and dinner at the campsite restaurant, Le Gueco.
Day 2 – Guided tour of Sisteron
Take a guided tour of the Old Town of Sisteron, the ‘Gateway of Provence’ so-called due to its location between two mountain ridges. Admire the views over the River Durance from the citadel whilst you are there, and why not catch a ride on the Petit Train?
Day 3 – Visit the Gorges du Verdon and Lac Saint Croix
Discover this truly spectacular canyon landscape with its turquoise waters of the River Verdon and Lac Saint Croix. The canyon walls that drop steeply down to the river, offer amazing views.
Day 4 - Free time at your leisure
Why not relax at the campsite today with the River Durance flowing past and the inviting swimming pool?
Day 5 – Visit the village of Lurs
A half-day excursion to visit this lovely hillside village with its Roman ruins and fantastic views, followed by a guided visit around an olive farm in nearby Les Mées.
Day 6 – A trip to Forcalquier market
Today you have the opportunity to wander around this extensive and popular market, before going on to the formidable Abbey of Valsaintes with its attractive gardens. Finally, your excursion will take you to Banon, a town famous for its goat’s cheese wrapped in chestnut tree leaves!
Day 7 – Explore Manosque
Manosque is a large, walled town featuring centuries-old stone buildings lining the pedestrianised streets. You have the opportunity to do some shopping here before a visit to the ‘Occitane’ factory.
Day 8 – Final day at L’Hippocampe
Enjoy a final day at L’Hippocampe at your leisure and finish your first week with a farewell dinner at the campsite restaurant.
Day 9 – 16: Camping Les Ranchisses
Day 9 - Arrival at Camping Les Ranchisses (C32)
Travel westwards today to your next campsite. Unwind after your journey with a welcome drink and discuss the week ahead at the meeting with your fellow members.
Day 10 - Excursion to Pont d'Arc and lavender museum
See the incredible replica of the Grotte Chauvet, a UNESCO World Heritage site that contains the earliest and best-preserved cave paintings in the world. Finish the day with a guided tour of the St Ramèze Lavender Museum and take a stroll through the wonderfully fragrant lavender fields that this region is renowned for.
Day 11 - Free day at your leisure
Day 12 – Excursion to Le Château des Roure and silk farm
Today enjoy an excursion to the 15th Century Château des Roure and learn about its fascinating history. Then, go on to visit the château's very own silk farm where you will see the complete life-cycle of the worms and their cultivation, then follow the silk-making process all the way through to the finished product with a visit to the silk Eco museum. End the trip with a visit to the château’s haunted dungeons!
Day 13 - Free day at your leisure
Day 14 - Market and wine tasting
Do a bit of shopping at the Joyeuse market in the morning and then enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting to sample some of the local wines.
Day 15 - Free day & farewell meal
A free day at your leisure, to perhaps explore the local area one last time or maybe to return to one of your favourite locations from the week. Enjoy your last evening with a farewell meal to round off your second week.
Day 16 - Leave campsite before midday
