We picked this site for its location.
Arrival is a bit haphazard until you actually get to reception. There is no indication if you should wait outside the site or enter through the barrier on arrival. I opted for the latter then half blocked a road while we checked in. Reception team are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
We had a service pitch was large and overlooking the lake so very scenic and convenient with a mix of sun and shade through the day. The pitch next to us only had shade.
The shower and toilet blocks are kept spotless by a very dedicated and friendly team. The whole team are friendly and helpful and always waved and spoke when we met them.
Pool area is excellent but make sure you take your swimming trucks rather than swimming shorts!!
Bread needs to be ordered a day in advance but don't rely on the shop that was only open form 2 hours in the evening. A shame we couldn't get an ice cream or a pot of coffee during the day (visited early June) but I suspect that's not the case in high season. Restaurant is OK but again only open from 18:00 when we visited.
We loved St Emillion but its really for wine drinkers and the architecture and history. We took several drives out including Perigueux where we enjoyed a lovely lunch in the sun.
Before we went I hadn't seen warnings about the mosquitoes but its not just those that bite!!! Make sure you have plenty of insect repellant.
Libourne market was very good and while in Libourne we had another nice lunch in the sun :-)
N.B. The directions to site in the CAMC Touring Europe were not very helpful. We never did find the turning E on the 243 from Libourne. (A good job my husband is an ex LGV driver and seems to carry a road map in his head!!) Suffice to say we arrived in St Emillion and followed the directions towards the site. Again, it advises you can see the lake on the R as you approach. You don't. the lake is ahead of you as you drop down a slope and its behind trees. Turn R towards the site (big yellow flags are a clue) and the lake is now on your L.
