The nearby picturesque village of Altarnun has a monthly market and there is post office and café shop St Nonna’s church features in Daphne du Maurier’s book “ Jamaica Inn” and was the location for the wedding of TV’s Doc Martin.

Trenarrett is small hamlet founded on an ancient settlement which at least predates Domesday. There are now just 4 houses and a brewery which produces a variety of excellent real ales which are available at local pubs visits may be possible on request.
