5 well-drained grass pitches on a slightly sloping south-facing hillside with extensive views of the Eastern edge of Bodmin Moor to the upper Tamar Valley and onward to Dartmoor. It is secluded and quiet.
We don’t provide electric hookups. There is a toilet and washroom and a drive over grey waste disposal point. Dog are welcome but must be kept on lead.
The pitches are grass with a hard driveway into the field. There is a toilet and chemical disposal point. There is a gated entrance to site to ensure safety for children or animals.
The site is open all year and is ideally located to access all of Cornwall and Devon and both North and South coasts. It only a couple of miles from the A30 so is very easily reached without too much Cornish lane negotiation. The nearby picturesque village of Altarnun has a monthly market and there is post office and café shop St Nonna’s church features in Daphne du Maurier’s book “ Jamaica Inn” and was the location for the wedding of TV’s Doc Martin.
Trenarrett is small hamlet founded on an ancient settlement which at least predates Domesday. There are now just 4 houses and a brewery which produces a variety of excellent real ales which are available at local pubs visits may be possible on request.
Footpaths radiate from the hamlet of Trenarrett making it an ideal location for walkers. This idyllic corner of Cornwall is a peaceful backwater to more touristy destinations popular with the masses.
