Tenterden Certificated Locations

Tenterden is a highly attractive town with a large conservation area, featuring Elizabethan, Georgian and Victorian churches, houses and museums. These can be explored on foot on the heritage trail.

Visitors can also enjoy a great ride on the vintage steam trains of the Kent and East Sussex Railway, or enjoy more history at Sissington Castle, a National Trust property also featuring an outstanding extensive garden created by Harold Nicholson.

The town lies on the very edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, providing plenty of great walking. The south coast is also within easy reach, including the seaside towns of Hastings and Battle, the latter including the site where English history was transformed in 1066.
