Why stay here ...

Forge Meadow Caravan Site is an adult only site ideally situated halfway between the two historic towns of Tenterden (also famous for its steam railway) and Rye, and about half an hour from the lovely sandy beach at Camber Sands. It forms part of our 38 acre property with access to many footpaths around our beautiful countryside.  The site comprises a mowed field with views across the paddocks.  Facilities include 16 amp electric hook ups, waste disposal point and well stocked information room.

There are a number of National Trust properties in this part of Kent/East Sussex, the nearest being Smallhythe Place just 2 miles down the road and which is also sited opposite the renowned Chapel Down Vineyard who provide vineyard and winery tours, a fine dining restaurant and a shop.

There is also a small village shop for groceries and newspapers as well as a bus stop providing transport to both Rye and Tenterden.

Another lovely stay!

Forge Meadow Caravan Site
We have had another great break here, very peaceful and very well kept site with spacious plots. Hosts are friendly and informative. Loads to do and see in the area, including long walks from site. Will be back next year! Dave & Lyn.

What more could you want?

Forge Meadow Caravan Site
Perfectly positioned 5 miles from Tenterden and Rye with footpaths through the High Weald directly from the site. The site is out of sight from the road, secure and beautifully maintained. The site has a fab dog walking area in the field next to the pitches. The pitches are all large, supplied with electric and water and the owners are happy for a grey waste drain pipe to run directly to the hedge. The only sounds you here is that of the countryside and the pitches are all positioned to make best use of the Sunlight with a lovely view of the sunset in the evening. It is a great certified location and the owners are helpful and friendly. I'm not sure what more we'd want. We will be back at some point.

Brilliant CL

Forge Meadow Caravan Site
We have used Forge Meadow many times in the past and have just spent another three delightful days there. The site is down a road which leads to nowhere so there is no passing traffic. Despite the lane being narrow we have never met another vehicle either coming or going on any of our visits, so the site is extremely quiet. There plentiful walks directly from the site across the owners grass meadows. Paul and Mel are a delight to deal with and are friendly, welcoming and are there if you need them. Paul is a blacksmith and has his own forge on site and has allowed us to visit it and watch him work, a real craftsman. They have over the years gradually improved the site and the pitches have now been separated with a line of shrubs which gives a sense of ownership to your pitch. They have also introduced an A4 Folder for each pitch which provides all the information you need to make sure your stay is the best it can be. It includes details of the facilities on site and where they are as well as Doctors, Vets and Hospital phone numbers and addresses. Also included are the many local hostelries and their mileage from the site and their details. A map of the footpaths which cross their land is also included and their information hut has a full library as well as leaflets from the many local places to visit. We rate this site as one of the best we have used and will always come back to it all the while Paul and Mel own it what a lovely couple.

Lovely site, can’t wait to go back!

Forge Meadow Caravan Site
We had 5 nights at Forge Meadow earlier this month. It is a lovely quiet, peaceful, level, grassy site with very generous sized pitches and a very well stocked information hut. There is so much to do in the area and we liked the site so much that we will definitely be back next year.

Lovely Site

Forge Meadow Caravan Site
We visited for a week, communication was very good with the owners in booking and before arrival, the site is very well laid out, well maintained with a good information hut. Taps are on each pitch which essentially provide you with a service pitch. Pitches are large and well spread out, you pitch as per a normal club site with the peg on the corner of the van, works fine and gives good distances between the pitches. The area is really nice with plenty of places to visit. We would definitely return to this site 😀
