Why stay here ...

A popular caravan site in Warwickshire, The Warwick Racecourse Club Campsite is set on a grass and tarmac enclosure within the grounds of the racecourse itself and is a mere 15 minute walk from the town centre of Warwick. Conveniently located a mile away from the M40 motorway, the caravan park gives you easy access to a large variety of fun activities, from lovely walks and a 9-hole golf course to a driving range with an area for flying model aircraft and gliders. You can also enjoy a lovely walk along the Grand Union Canal at picturesque Hatton Locks and perhaps stop for refreshments at the Hatton Lock Café.

Adjacent to the Warwick Racecourse Club Campsite you will find the historic Hill Close Victorian Gardens (admittance charge), which act as a gateway to the town centre. The award-winning Warwick Castle is also within easy reach of the caravan site and is a must-see as it's reputed to be the finest medieval castle in England. Another place in the area that is well worth the visit is pretty Stratford-upon-Avon - here you can walk the superb Heritage Trail, take the fascinating Shakespeare Story Tour Bus and visit the world famous theatre. You might also like to visit Birmingham or Leamington Spa, accessible by train, which offer a great mix of both high street and boutique shops.

What a pleasure, Cath and Roy were happy, helpful and informative. The site was spotless, showers lovely and hot. Great location for Warwick, the Castle and obviously if horse racing is on that’s a bonus. We will definitely be returning. A very big THANK YOU from Sharon and Kevin Mooney.

Great location

Warwick Racecourse Club Campsite
I stayed here for the first time as a break in my journey to Kent as it’s just off the M40. I’d rang a few days earlier to see if i could pitch by the facilities as i am recovering from a broken leg and a little doddery. This was my first trip since my accident and i was a tad apprehensive as to how i would cope. Kath and Roy were just brilliant. They’d reserved a spot directly opposite the loos and Roy was most willing to help, although i did want to try on my own! When i asked if he could do the same on my return trip he immediately dashed to the office to do the deed! The site itself is small but well maintained. I did manage to get a tv signal after spending a lot of time in the wardrobe with my aerial! Also managed to log in to the jockey club wi-fi so alls well. If you want a pitch that isn’t on the tarmac, then book an awning pitch. But the tarmac pitches are by the racecourse, so on a race day, that maybe what you want. Well located for Warwick itself, even i managed to hobble in but, for me, it wasn’t worth the effort. Not a very touristy place, other than the castle which i didn’t visit. Great situation for the dog. Straight out the gate and there you go. As for the people moaning about the wardens, i would say look in the mirror and see where the problem really lies. If you need instruction on how to work a shower, then it is you who has the problem. I got talking with Kath and they are the only wardens who work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 weeks….then have 1 week off. I would ask those whingers and moaners to add the hours up and then ask. Would you do it? There are rules for a reason, it’s not about being in Government. It’s about doing the right thing rather than doing what YOU want to do. Thanks Roy and Kath…see you later..xx

HOOOt water

Warwick Racecourse Club Campsite
The site is quite well situated for the town and surrounding area. At check in I was informed the price was £ 23.- per night for one person and a motorhome, and not £ 21.90 per night, which I was quoted when booking just five weeks in advance, i.e. an increase of just over 5%. When I queried that, lecture # 1 started, and I then recalled a letter from CAMC about possible increase due to el & gas. The lady at check in kept going on and I eventually said ‘forget it’. I then informed her I was with a group of single travellers, this prompted lecture # 2 - again I just said ‘forget it’. When parked up the way I recalled being told in between the lectures and receiving loads of papers, on what I thought was my plot, although the signage was rather confusing as no arrows on the plot number was showing the direction of the plot. I connected electricity and fitted my front screen covers. Then a knock on the door - man said I could not park like this, I was obstructing the rules for distance and I would get out of the van on the wrong side. Lecture # 3 informed me I had to move about 2 metres further along and face a toilet block instead of having a more pleasant view, so were the rules, and as I’m not in government, I had to follow them. At this time I contemplated to pack up and go home to get away from these prison guards, as they were referred to by the group, but decided to stay. Apart from this a rather nice site, however the tiny stones got stuck in all foot-wears, and the hot water in the toilet block is scorching. They’d put up signs to warn about HOT water, but the consequence was that people turned on the hot tap but hardly used any of it. The showers had no instruction about how to use the turning knobs. Hence after a while, and wasting a lot of water, it was workable, however even on full cold, it was still too hot for me. No wonder the energy prices have gone up.

Excellent

Warwick Racecourse Club Campsite
Just returned home from a wonderful 3 night stay. It was our first trip out in our motorhome and we loved every minute. The site facilities are great, everything you would need. Lovely hot, powerful showers in the spotlessly clean toilet blocks. Short stroll into Warwick with a great selection of shops and bars, the castle is only a 10 minute walk away too. Roy & Cath we’re very helpful and welcoming. We will be returning for a race day next year.
