First visit to frenton farm

On arrival we were greeted with a true warm cornish welcome by site owners Colin and May. We were given information about the somewhat confusing recycling system. As caravanners who enjoy the countryside we always welcome advice about recycling in the many areas we visit. Colin told us about his pet German Shephard Odin who often joined him on his checks of the site. Odin would come to say hello wagging his tail enthusiastically. Unfortunately our Chihuahua Buzz was not so friendly to Odin and would bark at him through the door flyscreen. Odin did make us laugh as he stood on the other side with his head cocked to one side frowning at this cheeky Chihuahua. Luckily for us Odin proved himself to be a good host. Colin and May have an open invite for a cuppa and a chat....which we took up on several occassions. Although it frequently rained during our visit we found the ground to be well drained. The site itself is well kept and very clean. We saw Colin and Odin doing their rounds on a daily basis. The site is central to other beautiful areas of Cornwall that we love to visit and the information pack that was handed to us on arrival was helpful as it had free offers included. Colin was very helpful and knowledgeable. During our conversations we covered a wide variety of subjects from foreign holidays to ham radio. We will certainly use this site when we visit part of Cornwall again. We would have loved to have brought Odin home with us but he's too well loved by Colin and May.......and we are sure he is by other visitors to the site. Bye Odin see you soon and thank you to your friendly humans.

A truly wonderful place to stay!

Frenton Farm CL is probably the best CL we have stayed at, and will certainly be the one we use every time we come and stay in Cornwall! From the beautiful idilic location with dogs walks and perfectly mown green grass and easy to access water/elsan facilities we really couldn't as for much more. And thats not even mentioning the lovely owners Colin and May and their wonderful dog. When arriving on site we were greeted by Colin, who was extremely friendly and helpful with showing us to our pitch and giving us all the information. After we had set up we went up to the house and couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome after meeting the lovely May and Odin their friendly German Shepard. I think our dogs loved the CL just as much as we did, we would often bump into Colin and Odin on the dogs walks and our dogs would run about and play together. It really was a pleasure to stay and meet Colin, May and Odin! It is CL's like this that make joining the caravan and motorhome club really worth it! We couldn't recommend this CL enough and will certainly be returning!

watch out for the dog,!

Firstly i agree with all the reviews that i read before booking this CL site,,,everything said is true great site and great owners ,,,,,However when we arrived we were given a list of rules and instruction regarding recycling ect, one of the rules was dogs on leads whilst on site,,, also when on the dog walk let them run free, fair enough our Hari has his own moon chair which is attached with a 2 meter lead that he is connected to,,,he loves it,however one morning actually August 21st this year, i decided to walk him down to the gate approx 150 yards,,as it had been raining and thought the dog walk may be a bit muddy,,we were on the way to the gate on his long lead i may add when out of the blue the owners Alsation dog ,,,attacked Hari he is a whippet,,,,,Hari saw him and barked within a second the Alsation had injured him causing a severe gash on his left haunch,,,he needed rushing to the vets requiring emergency surgery and a night in the vets..,,, we were touring for 8 weeks so had to visit 2 further vets to get the drain removed and finally the stitches removed, stress full, Colin the site owner kindly paid the £110.00 excess on our policy,.when we arrived i spoke to to Motorhomers they said the dog was kept tied up when dogs are on site,,i later asked where he had come from to be told he had been to the dog walk and assumed we would not be about @9.oclock in the morning, which is why he was off his lead finally he told me the dog was 3 years old and rescued from a scrap yard in Spain,,,,as i say its a great site for visiting Cornwall,,sadly i wont be returning,

Best CL

The best thing about this CL is the owners, who bend over backwards to make sure visitors to the site are looked after. We were shown several pitches and were able to take our pick, which was great. The gentleman, who is elderly, comes round on his motorised scooter every day to check everything is well, and gave us a handful of information about places to visit. Very refreshing to have someone so friendly and caring. And the price is reasonable too! Loved it, and will definitely use again if we are in the area.

Wonderful find!

On arrival you go up to reception (the house - which is charming) and Colin helps you site - getting the best site for you and your outfit. The WiFi is excellent and our old van had bad TV so Colin arranged an aerial we could borrow. I understand all the others on site had good TV. invited back to the house for a cuppa once we were settled, I encourage you to take him up on this, they are a lovely couple. The dog walk is great! A wooded area with different paths and walled in, so dogs can be loose. Colin has been a caravan club member for almost fifty years so knows how a site should be. The site is immaculate.

A lovely beautifully run CL

Colin and May are wonderful hosts and this is a beautifully manicured and cared for site. The arrival instructions are clear, we parked as requested, were met by Colin who even suggested the best pitch for us and our outfit. The pitches are well laid out, excellent Wi-fi. Near to lots of local places. Easy access to coast and country. Will be returning!

A little gem in Cornwall

We have just returned from an 8 night stay at this little gem of a CL site. Colin & May, the owners, were so welcoming we felt we were treated as friends rather than customers. They offered cups of tea, use of mobility scooter and even his car. Who else would offer this? The site grass was cut very short and Colin even used his mower to collect the fallen leaves, leaving the site looking immaculate. There is a lovely wooded area for walking the dogs, and there are bus stops at the site entrance for St Austell or Newquay. At £13 per night inc EHU who could ask for anything else? We will definitely be returning.

Excellent

This site in our opinion is the best CL in Cornwall have been using the site for over 10 yrs. it is a very well kept site and within driving distance of most amenities. The owners Colin & May are always more than willing to help and accommodate guests, there is always a warm welcome there. It is a peaceful tranquil site ideal for dogs as there is a good dog walk in the next field to the campsite it’s like home from home we would never stay anywhere else as it’s the best kept and quiet friendly CL we have stayed on just love it there.
